What you'll do
- Find biotech startups for the Accelerator, assess their fit and recommend candidates for formal review
- Run due diligence on candidates approved for assessment and oversee ongoing relationships with Accelerator members
- Review research collaboration proposals, identify potential partners and guide the proposal triage
- Manage research partnerships with Accelerator collaborators and other external research partners
- Support Accelerator initiatives such as Translational Research Connect and other external innovation work
What you bring
- A Ph.D. or M.D. in a listed life science field or a related discipline
- At least five years in pharmaceutical R&D, business development, venture capital or healthcare consulting
- Strong grounding in biology, disease mechanisms, drug-discovery technologies, business and investment
- Fluency in Chinese and English, with experience communicating, networking and influencing

The Position
This Opportunity
- Search and evaluate biotech startups as potential candidates for Roche Accelerator members, and make recommendations for Accelerator head to start the formal assessment process
- Lead DD activities of endorsed Accelerator candidates;
- Manage general alliance with Accelerator members;
- Receive and assess research collaboration proposals, search for collaborators and lead the triage processes and activities;
- Manage research collaboration alliance with Accelerator collaborators and general external collaborators;
- Contribute to Roche Accelerator strategic initiatives such as Translational Research Connect
- Perform other duties related to sourcing and managing external innovation
In this position, you will be primarily accountable for consistently, effectively:
- Searching and evaluating biotech startups as potential candidates for Roche Accelerator members, and make recommendations for Accelerator head to start the formal assessment process
- Leading DD activities of endorsed Accelerator candidates
- Managing general alliance with Accelerator members
- Receiving and assessing research collaboration proposals, searching for collaborators and leading the triage processes and activities
- Managing research collaboration alliance with Accelerator collaborators and general external collaborators
- Contributing to Roche Accelerator strategic initiatives such as Translational Research Connect, etc.
- Performing other duties related to sourcing and managing external innovation
Who you are
- Ph.D., M.D., major in biological sciences/medicine/pharmacology/pharmacy/chemistry or related areas
- 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical R&D, BD, VC, healthcare-related consulting firm, with past experiences in search and evaluation strongly preferred
- Solid knowledge in biological sciences and disease biology, drug-discovery enabling technologies, business and investment
- Quick learner and organized project manager
- Self-motivating multi-tasker
- Fluent in both Chinese and English, with strong communication, networking and influencing skills.
