Job Description & Summary

About the role:

The Alliance Sales Director is a deal-focused specialist with expert understanding of how the Alliance Partner goes to market and is responsible for originating, qualifying, shaping and supporting the successful conversion of sales opportunities, while driving the growth of the Alliance and all related metrics, with a focus on converting qualified pipeline into commercial outcomes and wins.
The Alliance Sales Director is part of the team responsible for growing the relationship with strategic intent and supporting market penetration, solution identification and wins.
The Alliance Sales Director role works closely with the Alliance team, Alliance Leader and Alliance Partner Executive team. This is a hybrid sales support and relationship management role with a strong commercial focus. It is not a pure direct sales role; success comes through generating and shaping qualified pipeline, supporting priority pursuits, and strengthening the Alliance relationship to drive measurable growth.

What your days will look like:

  • Executing the strategy and business plan of the Alliance with a focus on market penetration, revenue growth, and identifying additional synergies between the Alliance and the firm to expand the Alliance programme throughout the UK firm.
  • Working with sales, account and delivery teams, Workday sales teams and key stakeholders to identify, qualify, shape and progress opportunities, driving incremental deal flow, qualified pipeline, sales outcomes and joint opportunities.
  • Executing GTM solutions that align to firm and technology strategy and generate significant wins for the firm; consistently communicating the Alliance value proposition and strategic direction internally and externally, while proactively aligning opportunities with the Alliance relationship.
  • Collaborating with cross-sector and cross-service practice teams on executing Alliance initiatives, supporting annual business planning and ongoing joint planning sessions with Alliance and firm leaders to drive strategic alignment, and ensuring Alliance partner status and certification levels are maintained and grown.
  • Driving growth through identifying and qualifying Alliance-sourced opportunities; defining and executing win strategies; supporting commercial strategy, pricing, proposal development and pursuit execution; coordinating joint plays, sales and marketing campaigns, and Alliance partner funding, referrals and resale opportunities; maintaining key Alliance stakeholder relationships; providing market insight and performance reporting; and leading and developing the PwC Workday sales team to support pipeline growth and sales execution.

This role is for you if:

  • You have excellent communication skills and can effectively lead multidisciplinary teams, while working across complex, matrix organisations and managing varied stakeholder groups.
  • You can build strong relationships and credibility with Alliance Partner stakeholders and internal sales, account and delivery teams, supported by strong influencing, negotiating and facilitation skills.
  • You have experience originating, qualifying and supporting complex, partner-influenced sales opportunities, shaping qualified pipeline through collaboration rather than standalone direct selling.
  • You have a sound business and commercial understanding, are risk aware, and can navigate change and ambiguity while motivating and inspiring teams.
  • You demonstrate a mindset that is comfortable with testing, learning and optimising, with a creative and innovative approach to solving challenges.
  • You have strong people management and coaching skills, with the ability to develop high-performing teams and support their growth.
  • You possess an eye for emerging trends and a curious mind, using insights to identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
  • You are highly collaborative and relationship-focused, with the ability to align diverse stakeholders around shared objectives and Alliance growth opportunities.
