From the employer
Social Media & Digital Content Specialist
The Opportunity
NKPR is looking for an experienced Social Media & Digital Content Specialist to join our Toronto team and help shape how NKPR shows up across its digital channels.
This is a hands-on creative role for someone who knows how to turn an idea, story or business objective into content that people actually want to engage with. You’ll be responsible for developing social content from concept through execution — writing copy, creating visual assets, producing and editing short-form video, building content calendars, publishing posts and engaging with our online community.
You’ll work closely with NKPR’s PR and leadership teams to identify stories worth telling and translate them into smart, timely and engaging digital content.
We’re looking for someone who combines excellent writing with strong visual instincts, understands what makes content perform across different platforms and stays closely connected to social trends and evolving best practices.
What You'll Do
- Develop and manage content calendars across NKPR’s social and digital channels.
- Write engaging, brand-aligned copy for Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, newsletters, website content and other digital platforms.
- Create compelling social-first content, including graphics, carousels, Reels, short-form video and other visual assets.
- Capture and edit content for social channels, including content from agency initiatives, events and other relevant moments.
- Publish and schedule content while ensuring accuracy, consistency and appropriate timing across platforms.
- Manage day-to-day community engagement, including comments, messages, mentions and relevant conversations.
- Identify opportunities to grow NKPR’s social channels and build an active, engaged audience.
- Stay on top of social media trends, platform updates, emerging formats and cultural conversations, and identify where NKPR can participate authentically.
- Develop new content concepts and proactively bring forward ideas rather than waiting for assignments.
- Support social campaigns, newsletters, paid initiatives, strategic partnerships and promotions.
- Monitor content performance and use insights to inform future content and channel strategy.
- Collaborate with PR teams to identify agency news, thought leadership, events, media moments and other stories that can be translated into engaging social content.
- Maintain a consistent NKPR brand voice and visual identity across digital touchpoints.
What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years of professional experience in social media content creation and copywriting, ideally within an agency, editorial, PR, marketing or brand environment.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt voice, tone and messaging for different platforms and audiences.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating social media content, copywriting and creative execution.
- Hands-on experience creating social-first visual and video content.
- Strong proficiency with content creation and editing tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut or similar platforms.
- Deep familiarity with Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Facebook and other major social platforms.
- Strong understanding of social media trends, engagement strategies, platform best practices and emerging content formats.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing polished, accurate work.
- The ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive mindset — you notice opportunities, bring forward ideas and take ownership of execution.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- A genuine interest in digital culture, storytelling and what makes brands relevant online.
What Success Looks Like
You understand NKPR’s voice and know how to translate it into content that feels timely, polished and distinctly ours. You consistently bring forward fresh ideas, execute them with strong attention to detail and understand how to adapt a story for different social platforms.
You’re equally comfortable writing a strong LinkedIn post, developing an Instagram carousel, editing a Reel or spotting a trend that could become a relevant content opportunity.
You’re organized enough to keep planned content moving while remaining flexible enough to respond when an unexpected opportunity comes up.
Most importantly, you take ownership of NKPR’s social presence and are constantly thinking about how we can make it stronger.
