From the employer

About MiLa

MìLà is a Chinese food company. Our teams work tirelessly to enhance delicious products that we all enjoy at home! While MìLà is a Chinese food brand, it’s really a celebration of the power of food to bring us together, share our stories, and discover new flavors and cultures.

Our mission is to build something that feels authentically and uniquely true to our roots as a Chinese-American-founded brand. Something we can own, but that’s also meant to be shared. One of the things we love about Chinese food is that it’s traditionally served family-style—shared with everyone gathered at the table. MìLà is a Chinese food brand, but it’s really a celebration of the power of food to bring us together, share our stories, and discover new flavors and cultures.

Job Summary

(This role is either hybrid in Sumner, WA, or remote in Los Angeles, CA, with travel to HQ and other locations for social activations)

As Social Media Manager at MìLà, you will own how our brand shows up on social and make @eat.mila an account people choose to follow. You will sit at the intersection of content, community, and culture—bringing together storytelling, hands-on production, and performance data to build a food media personality, not a content calendar.

This is a high-ownership role reporting to our CMO. You will build and run recurring content franchises, shoot and edit short-form video, direct a small bench of freelance partners, and lead regular reviews with leadership. You should be comfortable moving at the speed of the platforms, balancing creative instinct with strong analytical rigor.

This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with our founders and our roster of celebrity and influencer partners.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Own MìLà’s organic social presence across Instagram and TikTok as primary platforms, plus YouTube and LinkedIn, with a point of view on emerging platforms
  • Develop and run recurring content franchises that give people a reason to follow, from how our food is made to the people behind it
  • Concept, script, shoot, and edit short-form video, phone-first and at platform speed
  • Direct freelance production partners and oversee Stories and community management, including comments, DMs, and UGC
  • Partner with our creator and influencer lead to bring creators into our content and decide what earns a place in the feed
  • Concept and run social-first activations and small-scale events that create content and drive culture around MìLà, and lead social coverage of larger brand and partnership events
  • Coach MìLà team members on camera and build a recurring cast our audience recognizes
  • Partner with brand, sales, innovation, and partnerships teams so social reflects what’s happening at MìLà, routing launch and retail news to the right channel
  • Measure what matters—shares, non-follower reach, watch-through, and follows—and run a weekly test-and-learn rhythm
  • Lead regular performance reviews with leadership, bringing clear recommendations

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Strong editorial judgment and a clear sense of what makes people stop, watch, and share
  • Hands-on production skills in CapCut, Premiere, or similar tools
  • Sharp writing for hooks, captions, and scripts
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including leading meetings with senior leaders
  • Comfortable on camera, or great at making others comfortable on camera
  • On top of culture and trends, with the judgment to know when one doesn’t fit MìLà
  • Flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work for activations and live moments

Education & Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience running social for a consumer brand, media company, or creator (CPG, food & beverage, QSR, beauty, DTC, or high-growth startup preferred)
  • A portfolio of short-form content you created or led that people actually shared
  • Experience directing freelancers, creators, or production partners
  • Experience planning activations or events a plus
  • Fluency in platform analytics and the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Working knowledge of how paid and organic social work together
  • Genuine obsession with food; familiarity with Chinese and Chinese-American food culture a plus
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and operate with a high level of ownership

Compensation

  • Base salary of $92k–$100k (DOE) for the greater Seattle area (hybrid in Sumner, WA)
  • Base salary of $92k–$110k (DOE) for Los Angeles, CA (remote)

Why Should You Join Us?

  • Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, and vision insurance. MiLa covers 75% of employee premiums & 25% of dependent premiums
  • Optional Extra Protection for Life & AD&D (with guarantee issue amounts at time of hire), Hospital, and Short Term Disability
  • Invest in your Future - 401(k) plan to help with your long-term financial security
