From the employer

About Us

Our WTW Regional Delivery Center, based in the heart of Lisbon, brings together a strong global team of more than 400 colleagues who deliver operational excellence every day through innovation and streamlined, efficient solutions.

The Opportunity

The Senior Bid Manager is responsible for leading the development and delivery of high-quality RFP responses for WTW’s Western Europe Corporate Risk and Broking business. The role will focus primarily on the region’s most complex cross-border opportunities, working closely with opportunity owners, product specialists and bid management colleagues to develop compelling, differentiated and client-focused proposals.

The role will also support bid capability across the region by developing and maintaining shared knowledge, tools, templates and proposition materials to improve quality, consistency and efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and project manage RFP responses from initial opportunity evaluation through to final submission.

  • Own the end-to-end proposal process and timetable, including kick-off meetings, formulating a winning strategy, content planning, role allocation, drafting, reviewing, submission and presentation rehearsal.

  • Partner with opportunity teams to define and articulate a clear and differentiated value proposition tailored to the client’s priorities and evaluation criteria.

  • Draft, edit and produce high-quality proposal content that translates complex technical information into clear, persuasive and client-friendly language.

  • Ensure all proposal materials are consistent in structure, tone, messaging, visual quality and adherence to WTW brand standards.

  • Maintain robust governance throughout the bid process, ensuring that submission instructions, internal approvals and all compliance requirements are met.

  • Coach and challenge contributors to improve the quality, relevance and timeliness of their input, escalating risks and resolving issues where required.

  • Champion innovative and technology-enabled approaches to proposal development, including adopting new and interactive presentation styles.

  • Develop and maintain a European repository of base content, tools, templates and best-practice materials that can be used by teams across the region.

  • Develop and implement AI-enabled solutions that streamline the bid process, reduce manual effort and improve the speed, consistency and quality of proposal development, while ensuring appropriate governance and human oversight.

  • Contribute to the continued development of the Western Europe bid management community by sharing insight, improving ways of working and supporting consistent standards across markets.

What You’ll Bring

  • Five years’ experience in bid management, ideally within the professional or financial services industry.

  • Proven experience of leading the full lifecycle of complex RFP responses, from qualification and strategy through to content development, governance and final delivery.

  • Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate technical or specialist information into clear, persuasive and client-focused content.

  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to establish clear plans, coordinate multiple stakeholders and maintain momentum against demanding deadlines.

  • Confident stakeholder management and communication skills, including the credibility to advise, influence and constructively challenge senior colleagues.

  • Sound commercial judgement and the ability to identify the client issues, differentiators and evidence most likely to strengthen a proposal.

  • A collaborative, proactive and resilient approach, with a proven ability to manage competing priorities and perform effectively under pressure.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a disciplined approach to quality assurance and compliance.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, with working knowledge of Excel.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential; additional European language skills are advantageous.

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign, Illustrator or Photoshop, is advantageous.
