Role brief

Growth Roles summary, based on the employer's posting.

What you'll do

  • Build and run every social channel from scratch, LinkedIn through X
  • Star on camera and dream up the video concepts yourself
  • Write scrolling-stopping hooks, scripts and captions aimed at builders
  • Keep the calendar, cadence and publishing steady day to day
  • Reply to comments and DMs as the brand's living voice

What you bring

  • Three to five years driving social for a brand or your own account, with provable results
  • Real ease performing on camera, since it anchors the role
  • A history of growing engagement and top-of-funnel organically
  • Strong feel for short-form video mechanics on TikTok, Reels and Shorts
  • Writing that reads human, plus daily community consistency

Who this fits

This suits a self-starting social operator who wants to define a brand's presence rather than maintain one, and who genuinely enjoys hosting on camera. A video editor handles shooting and editing, so your focus stays on ideas, growth and community. It is onsite in San Francisco at 101 2nd Street, since the on-camera work happens there. Pay runs $115K to $135K base plus early-stage equity.

From the employer

About Bobyard
Construction is a trillion dollar industry running on manual work. Contractors still measure and count materials off drawings by hand — it takes forever. Bobyard uses AI to automate takeoffs and estimates, making bids 10x faster. We're Series A, backed by 8VC, Primary, and Pear, and we're growing uncomfortably fast.

About the role
This is our first dedicated social hire, and you'll own all of it. Bobyard has a great product and a story almost nobody in construction has heard yet. Your job is to change that — build our social presence from the ground up, be the face and voice of the brand on camera, and turn a category people think is boring into content they actually stop for. You'll set the playbook, not inherit one. You'll ideate; our video editor shoots and edits, so you can focus on ideas, hosting, and growth.

What you'll do

  • Own Bobyard's social channels end-to-end — LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and X

  • Come up with video concepts and appear on camera regularly — you're the talent

  • Write hooks, scripts, and captions that get contractors and builders to stop scrolling

  • Run the day-to-day: plan the calendar, schedule and publish, and keep a consistent cadence

  • Manage the community — reply to comments and DMs and be Bobyard's voice in the wild

  • Grow engagement and top-of-funnel numbers, and know why they moved

  • Partner with brand and copy on ideas, and hand shoots to our video editor to produce

  • Jump on trends and cultural moments fast — with taste that fits a premium product

  • Report on what's working, double down, and kill what isn't

What we're looking for

  • 3–5 years running social for a brand (or yourself), with a portfolio and real numbers you can prove were yours

  • Genuine comfort on camera — this is a core part of the job

  • A track record of organic growth: you know how to move engagement and TOFU, not just post

  • Sharp instincts for short-form video — hook, retention, payoff — across TikTok, Reels, and Shorts

  • Consistency and community chops: you keep channels alive daily and engage like a human, not a brand account

  • Strong writing: captions and copy that sound like a person

  • Self-starting and operationally reliable — you take a goal and run, and you show up every day

Nice to have

  • A point of view on B2B and LinkedIn video

  • Experience making a technical or "unsexy" product interesting

  • Comfortable grabbing quick iPhone content yourself when the moment calls for it

  • Your own channel with real traction

What we offer

  • $115K–$135K base + meaningful early-stage equity

  • The entire social brand of a fast-growing company to own and define

  • A dedicated video editor so you can focus on ideas and growth

  • A team that moves fast, takes full ownership, and keeps a healthy sense of humor

  • On-site in SF (101 2nd Street) — we build together, and on-camera work happens here
