When Equipment Goes Down, Customers Don't Need a Sales Pitch. They Need a Solution.

That's where you come in.

WMH Solutions is hiring a Product Support Sales Representative to grow our parts, service, and aftermarket business throughout the Alabama market.

This is a field-based B2B outside sales role for someone who enjoys opening doors, building relationships, identifying operational needs, and turning those conversations into long-term business.

You'll work directly with manufacturers, warehouses, distribution centers, contractors, and other industrial operations that depend on their equipment to keep moving.

Your job isn't simply to sell a part.

It's to understand what the customer needs, connect them with the right WMH solution, and become someone they call before they call the competition.

This Is a Hunter Role

Let's be clear about the opportunity.

This isn't a role built around waiting for inbound leads or simply maintaining an established book of business.

Approximately:

80% — New Business Development

  • Prospecting, cold outreach, field visits, referrals, networking, and opening new accounts.

10% — Account Reactivation

  • Reconnecting with customers and identifying opportunities to earn their business again.

10% — Existing Customer Development

  • Strengthening relationships, uncovering additional needs, and expanding WMH's presence within current accounts.
You'll have an established company, service infrastructure, product portfolio, and internal team behind you.

Your opportunity is to build the territory in front of you. You'll represent solutions that directly impact your customers' equipment uptime and operations, including:
  • Parts and aftermarket products
  • Preventive and planned maintenance programs
  • Service and repair solutions
  • Maintenance agreements
  • Material handling equipment support
  • Industrial batteries and charging solutions
  • Fleet and equipment-support solutions
  • Additional aftermarket products and services based on customer needs
You don't need to walk in knowing every part number or every forklift model.

You do need the curiosity to understand industrial equipment, ask good questions, uncover business needs, and learn how WMH solves them.

We'll help with the product knowledge.

Your Territory Becomes Your Business.

You'll be responsible for developing it through consistent prospecting, customer interaction, follow-up, and relationship building.

You'll:
  • Prospect and develop new B2B customers throughout your assigned territory
  • Conduct face-to-face customer visits and outbound prospecting
  • Identify parts, service, maintenance, and equipment-support opportunities
  • Build relationships with operations leaders, maintenance teams, facility managers, purchasing contacts, and other decision-makers
  • Understand customer challenges and recommend appropriate WMH solutions
  • Develop proposals and present solutions based on customer needs
  • Manage opportunities from initial conversation through close
  • Reactivate inactive and underdeveloped accounts
  • Expand relationships within existing customers
  • Use service activity and customer information to identify additional sales opportunities
  • Maintain an organized pipeline and accurate customer information in CRM
  • Develop weekly territory and prospecting plans
  • Maintain timely follow-up on leads, quotes, and open opportunities
  • Collaborate with WMH Service, Parts, Sales, Rental, and other internal teams
  • Coordinate with manufacturers and internal resources when specialized support is needed
  • Track activity, opportunities, forecasts, and results
  • Take ownership of your territory and monthly sales goals
You'll have clear expectations around prospecting, customer activity, pipeline development, and revenue performance.

How you organize the territory, build relationships, and create opportunity is where your sales ability comes in. We're interested in people who know how to create business — not simply wait for it to arrive.

You'll likely do well here if you: ✓ Are comfortable initiating conversations and opening new accounts
✓ Don't depend entirely on inbound leads to build your pipeline
✓ Enjoy being in the field and meeting customers face-to-face
✓ Can hear “not right now” without treating it as “never”
✓ Ask questions before trying to sell something
✓ Follow up consistently without needing someone to remind you
✓ Can manage multiple customers, prospects, quotes, and priorities
✓ Are comfortable being measured against activity and sales goals
✓ Build credibility with operations and maintenance professionals
✓ Are curious about equipment and how customers operate
✓ Use CRM to manage your business and opportunities
✓ Take ownership when your territory isn't producing the results you want
✓ Want your performance to influence what you earn

If you're naturally proactive, competitive, organized, relationship-driven, and comfortable creating your own opportunities, you'll understand this role quickly.

Your Background Doesn't Have to Say “Forklift Sales”

Material handling experience is valuable.

It isn't the only path into this role.

We're interested in candidates with experience in areas such as:
  • Outside B2B sales
  • Territory sales
  • Industrial sales
  • Material handling
  • Equipment rental
  • Industrial distribution
  • Heavy or construction equipment
  • Commercial parts or service sales
  • Fleet or transportation services
  • Industrial MRO
  • Manufacturing support
  • HVAC or mechanical service sales
  • Facilities and maintenance solutions
  • Other territory-based B2B environments
If you've successfully sold products or services where equipment uptime, operations, maintenance, service, or customer relationships matter, your experience may translate well here.

We can teach material handling. We need you to bring the drive to develop business.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Demonstrated ability to build professional customer relationships
  • Ability and willingness to consistently prospect for new business
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and time management
  • Ability to independently manage a field-based territory
  • Comfort using CRM and technology to manage sales activity and pipeline
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet applicable company driving requirements

Preferred

  • Previous outside B2B or territory sales experience
  • Demonstrated experience prospecting and developing new accounts
  • Industrial, equipment, parts, service, rental, MRO, or related sales experience
  • Experience selling to manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, construction, or industrial customers
  • CRM experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience

Experience Matters Here

A bachelor's degree is welcomed, but demonstrated sales performance and relevant professional experience matter.

If you've built business, developed a territory, opened new accounts, or successfully sold industrial or service solutions without a four-year degree, we still want to hear from you.
