From the employer
Business Development and Onboarding Manager
Worthing, West Sussex, UK | Full-time | Permanent
Turn great conversations into great customer relationships.
Are you someone who thrives on bringing structure, momentum and clarity to a busy commercial environment? Do you enjoy connecting the dots, keeping people on track and making sure opportunities turn into meaningful, long-term relationships?
We’re looking for a highly organised, commercially minded Business Development and Onboarding Manager to join a growing team in a pivotal role that sits at the heart of business development, customer relationships and commercial operations.
This is an opportunity to take ownership, make an impact and become the person who ensures nothing gets missed — from the first customer conversation through to the next steps that build lasting partnerships.
The opportunity
Working closely with senior commercial leadership and a small, collaborative team, you’ll bring the organisation, insight and follow-through that keep the commercial pipeline moving.
You’ll have real ownership of the systems, processes and relationships that underpin commercial success, helping the team stay focused, prepared and one step ahead.
What you’ll be doing
- Own the CRM and commercial pipeline: Keep information accurate, opportunities moving and reporting up to date, providing clear visibility of progress and priorities.
- Drive accountability: Make sure every meeting has clear actions, every commitment is followed up and important next steps are completed.
- Support commercial performance: Assist with forecasting, budget-versus-actual reporting and pipeline analysis to help inform business decisions.
- Build strong account plans: Develop structured plans for prospective customers, identifying opportunities and supporting a thoughtful, relationship-led approach.
- Coordinate customer engagement: Work with colleagues on events, targeted outreach and follow-up activities that keep prospective customers engaged.
- Support the customer journey: Maintain relationships and coordinate activities ahead of onboarding, ensuring a smooth, professional transition.
- Keep senior leadership one step ahead: Manage diaries, organise meetings, coordinate priorities and provide hands-on support with planning and projects.
Requirements
You’re naturally organised, proactive and detail-focused. You take pride in doing things properly, enjoy bringing order to complexity and know how to keep multiple priorities moving without losing sight of the bigger picture.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Experience in business development support, sales coordination, commercial operations or a similar B2B environment.
- Hands-on CRM experience, ideally including system ownership, administration or pipeline management.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with reporting, data and forecasts.
- Excellent organisation, communication and follow-up skills.
- The confidence to engage professionally with senior stakeholders and customers.
- A calm, practical approach when priorities change or deadlines tighten.
- Discretion, sound judgement and the ability to handle commercially sensitive information with complete professionalism.
Above all, you’re someone who takes ownership. You don’t wait to be chased, you spot what needs doing and you make sure it gets done.
Benefits
Why this role?
This is more than an administrative position. It’s a chance to play a central role in how a commercial team operates, helping create the structure, consistency and customer experience that support sustainable growth.
You’ll work closely with senior decision-makers, have the opportunity to shape processes and ways of working, and see the direct impact of your contribution.
If you enjoy a varied role where organisation meets commercial thinking, relationships matter and your contribution genuinely counts, this could be the next step you’re looking for.
