From the employer
About the Role
Permutive is at the centre of the biggest shift in advertising, giving advertisers and agencies access to the most scaled and durable audience data on the open internet: publisher first-party signals. Our Demand Side business is growing fast, and we’re building the team that will take it to the next level.
We’re hiring a Sales Development Representative to generate new business across agencies, brand advertisers and buy-side platforms. You’ll open doors, start conversations with the right people and build the pipeline our Sales Directors convert into revenue. You’ll be the link between Marketing and Sales, turning early interest into real opportunities.
SDRs are a critical first step in our sales cycle. Every deal our Demand Side team closes starts with a conversation you open, so the work you do directly shapes our revenue and growth. That’s why we invest in our SDRs: this role is the first step on a defined path to Sales Director, with clear milestones, hands-on coaching and real exposure to how deals are won. If you’re curious, driven and want to build a long-term career in sales, we’d love to hear from you.
About the Team
The Demand Side team at Permutive is a lean, high-performing group of industry experts. We help agencies and advertisers move away from third-party data on the open web by curating and activating audiences built on publisher first-party signals. Together, we’re winning new logos and growing our existing agency and advertiser relationships across our product lines.
You’ll work alongside Sales Directors and Demand Side leadership from day one, sit in on live deals and get regular, honest feedback on how you’re progressing. As your skills grow, so will your responsibility, from owning your own segment to leading parts of deals, with a clear view of what it takes to reach the next level.
What You’ll Do
Pipeline Generation: Research and map target accounts across agencies, holding groups, brand advertisers and buy-side platforms, and generate the qualified opportunities that start every deal for our Sales Directors.
Proactive Engagement: Maintain a high volume of quality activity focused on creating new business.
Represent Permutive: Support our presence at industry conferences, events and networking sessions, and start building your own professional network.
Inbound and Outbound: Follow up quickly on warm leads from marketing and events, while prospecting into new accounts and re-engaging dormant ones.
Qualification: Uncover the business needs of agencies and their end clients, qualify opportunities against a clear framework and hand them over with context a Sales Director can act on.
Market Knowledge: Learn our curation and audience offering well enough to hold a credible conversation about audiences, data and privacy.
Feedback Loop: Share what you hear from the market with Sales, Marketing and Product, so we keep sharpening our messaging.
Campaign Partnership: Work with Marketing and Demand Side leadership to plan and run targeted outreach campaigns into priority agencies and brands.
What You’ll Bring
Early Sales Experience: Around 1–2 years in sales, business development or a client-facing role, ideally in Media or AdTech.
Curiosity About Advertising: A genuine interest in how agencies, brands and programmatic buying work. Exposure to programmatic, DSPs or audience data is a plus, but not essential.
Hunter Mentality: A self-starter with a proactive approach, able to work independently yet collaboratively within a dynamic team.
Resilience: You handle rejection well, keep your momentum and hold yourself to high standards.
Results-Oriented: You thrive in a goal-oriented, highly accountable sales environment and own your numbers.
Adaptability: You’re comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-changing environment.
Coachable and Self-Sufficient: You don’t need close management, but you actively seek out coaching and mentoring to keep improving.
Entrepreneurial Spirit: You think like an owner, spot opportunities others miss and try new approaches without waiting to be asked.
What We Are Offering...
We set salaries in a structured, objective way, based on market data, our compensation strategy, and the experience and capability we see through our interview process. For a typical candidate who meets our requirements, we pay a base salary of $75,000 – $85,000.
How We Compensate for Success...
If you join Permutive as an SDR with a base salary of $85,000 and hit 100% of your target in a year, your OTE for that year will be around $135,500. Your earning potential is uncapped, and 100% target attainment is the minimum expectation for our SDRs.
Work Your Way
Permutive trusts you to manage your time and deliver results. Our hybrid model allows you to choose where you work best, whether in your own productive space or our London (Farringdon) or New York (Union Square) offices. That said, none of us work alone; we are part of a team.
To foster collaboration and connection, teams in these locations come together in person at least once a week and are encouraged to benefit from being in our offices to meet with teams more often. Commercial and customer-facing teams are encouraged to embrace in-person interactions to build lasting relationships with clients and colleagues.
Every Permutive employee gets together in person at the company’s Annual Kick Off for a week in February. Each year’s event promises to be an exciting opportunity for us to come together, reconnect with colleagues, and align on our shared vision for the year ahead.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
At Permutive, we’re taking a thoughtful, intersectional, long-term approach to diversity, equity & inclusion. We care deeply about creating an inclusive work environment that allows everyone to flourish, and we are taking continual action to progress in that direction.
We’re committed to hiring people regardless of race, religion, colour, national origin, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, and related medical conditions), sexual orientation, gender identity, age, neurodiversity status, disability status, or otherwise.
