Who this fits
This mid-level role suits someone who prefers focused, independent work across several client accounts and can keep content accurate with limited check-ins. You’ll work from the San Antonio office Monday through Thursday and from home on Fridays.
From the employer
Leadhub is a digital marketing agency focused on growing home service and trades businesses. We help HVAC, plumbing, roofing, electrical, and garage door companies get found by the people who need them, and we're looking for an SEO Content Specialist to own a big piece of that work. You'll figure out what our clients should rank for, write the service, location, and blog pages that get them there, and watch those pages start bringing in calls. Most of your time will be spent in Google Search Console, GA4, SE Ranking, WordPress, and your own drafts. You'll also keep citations and Google Business Profiles accurate, because a great page can't do much if the listing next to it is wrong. Your days are mostly focused, independent work on a mix of planned content and incoming client requests, and you'll check in with the account team on reporting and the occasional strategy question. You'll be with us in our San Antonio office Monday through Thursday, work from home on Fridays, and report to our Director of Brand Visibility. If you love digging into what makes a page rank, testing new ideas, and seeing your work show up as real calls for real businesses, this role is built for you.
Key Performance Indicators
- Grow organic traffic, rankings, and calls or form leads on the pages you write and optimize, tracked in GA4, Search Console, and SE Ranking
- Deliver content and optimizations on time and client-ready, with no factual, brand voice, or NAP errors reaching the client
- Keep citations and Google Business Profile data accurate across all of your clients
- Complete on-page and GBP audits for new and existing clients on the timeline set for each account
- Return edited drafts, whether AI-assisted or written by a teammate, that are accurate, clear, and on brand the first time
- Flag technical SEO issues to the development team early, with enough detail that they can fix them without a follow-up conversation
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Builds keyword and content plans for each client from competitor research, search data, and what local customers are actually searching for
- Writes service, location, and blog content that ranks for the searches that turn into booked jobs
- Optimizes on-page elements including title tags, meta descriptions, headers, internal links, and schema
- Runs on-page and Google Business Profile audits for new and existing clients and turns the findings into a clear, prioritized action list
- Manages citations and GBP accuracy across your clients. NAP data has to match everywhere
- Reviews and edits AI-assisted drafts and teammates' drafts for accuracy, clarity, and brand voice before anything goes to a client. Claims about equipment, codes, and pricing get checked, not assumed
- Publishes and updates content in WordPress and gives every page a final check once it's live
- Tracks how your pages perform in Search Console, GA4, and SE Ranking, and tests changes to titles, page structure, and content angles to find what moves rankings and calls
- Writes supporting copy for ads, emails, and downloadables when a campaign needs it
- Pulls together SEO performance data for client reporting so our account executives have clean, accurate numbers to share
- Documents technical issues like crawl errors, indexing problems, slow pages, and broken templates, and hands them to our development team with everything they need to fix them
- Keeps up with algorithm updates, AI Overviews, and local search changes, and tests new tactics on client sites before rolling them out more broadly
- Uses AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) for keyword research, outlines, first drafts, and audit summaries. AI supports the work; it does not replace the judgment behind it
- Escalates strategy questions, scope changes, and ranking or traffic drops to the Director of Brand Visibility with supporting data and your best read on what's causing them
Qualifications
- 2 to 5 years of hands-on local SEO experience, including writing the content yourself, not just recommending it
- A portfolio of SEO-driven writing, like service pages, location pages, or blogs, and the results you can tell us about
- Working depth in Google Search Console, GA4, and SE Ranking (or similar tool)
- A solid understanding of what drives local rankings, including GBP, citations, on-page signals, and internal linking
- You form your own opinion on what will rank and back it up with data
- You like trying new approaches, from content formats to AI Overview visibility, and you check whether they worked
- You care about the details. You catch your own mistakes before an editor or client does
- You do your best work with focused time and don't need frequent check-ins to deliver
- You have good editorial instincts and can take a rough draft, yours or someone else's, and make it accurate and on brand
- You can keep work moving across several client accounts without letting accuracy slip
- You use AI tools in your content and SEO work and know where they help and where they need a second look
- You're up for working in our San Antonio office Monday through Thursday, with Fridays from home
- WordPress experience is a plus
- Experience with home services or trades clients is a plus
- Google Analytics, HubSpot, or SE Ranking (or similar) certifications are a plus
