Role brief

growthroles summary, based on the employer's posting.

What you'll do

  • Direct paid campaigns on Meta, TikTok, Reddit and YouTube, allocating spend against reservations and acquisition costs
  • Write and produce social creative, taking concepts through copy, static assets and short-form video
  • Use consumer-facing organic posts to test ideas and promote successful creative into paid campaigns
  • Run weekly tests of audiences, hooks, formats and landing pages, recording results and checking incremental effect
  • Create LinkedIn content for multifamily owners and asset managers alongside consumer social work

What you bring

  • At least three years running paid social, with direct control of budgets and responsibility for returns
  • You can create copy, static ads and short videos yourself, from initial idea to publication
  • You can evaluate incrementality with holdouts, geographic splits or another rigorous approach
  • You use AI in your everyday workflow and can explain what it does well and where it falls short
  • You can diagnose performance changes and use CAC, payback and contribution figures to support spending decisions

Who this fits

This role suits a hands-on marketer who makes and tests performance creative, with paid social taking roughly seventy percent of the work. You’ll work from the San Francisco office each day and build the social function as its first dedicated hire. You’ll report to the senior performance marketing leader.

From the employer

About Landing

Landing is a nationwide hospitality platform where fully furnished apartments meet hotel quality and consistency. Guests can book from thousands of high-quality apartments in hundreds of cities, for a few nights or a few months. Every unit comes with all the comforts of home and 24/7 local support, whether someone is traveling for work, moving to a new city, or just wants more space than a hotel room. We're headquartered in Birmingham, and this role sits in our San Francisco office.

For apartment owners, we're a fast way to fill units and earn more from them. We handle everything from furnishing to guest turnover, so our partners don't have to do any of the work.

The role

Most people have never heard of Landing.

That's our biggest marketing challenge, and our biggest opportunity. When people discover us, they quickly realize there's a better alternative to hotels, Airbnbs, or traditional leases. The problem is most people don't know that an alternative exists. As our first social hire, you'll change that.

You’ll own our social presence from end to end, with paid social as the core of the job. You’ll build it into a growth engine that drives awareness, engagement, and ultimately, booked reservations. Organic social supports this: it's where we find our voice, test ideas, and identify creative worth scaling. This isn't social for the sake of likes or impressions. Success is measured by real business impact: introducing Landing to new audiences and turning that attention into customers.

You'll be the first person to own this function. Reporting to the Senior Director of Performance Marketing, you'll have the budget, creative freedom, and autonomy to experiment, move quickly, and build a social program from the ground up, without waiting on layers of approvals.

What you'll own

  • Paid social across Meta, TikTok, Reddit, YouTube, and whatever earns its place next. Full budget authority. You'll own the paid social budget, with the autonomy to allocate spend, test new platforms, and scale what works. Measured on booked revenue and customer acquisition cost, tested for incrementality - not last-click.
  • Organic social as a real channel, not a posting calendar. Organic is where we find our voice and test creative cheaply. The winners graduate to paid. Judged on audience growth, engagement that converts, and lift in people searching for us by name.
  • The creative itself. You'll write it, direct it, and, in many cases, make it. We're not just going to hand you finished assets and ask you to buy against them.
  • Testing. Audiences, hooks, formats, landing pages. Weekly cycles, documented results, and a real answer to "did this add anything we wouldn't have gotten anyway?"
  • Some owner-facing content. Roughly 20% of our audience is multifamily owners and asset managers, mostly on LinkedIn. Different message, same discipline.
  • Expect roughly 70% of your time on paid social, and the other 30% on consumer organic and owner-facing content.

The creative bar

  • Our best-performing work names what's wrong with the alternatives. It's sharp, specific, and occasionally funny. It is not a beautifully shot film about belonging.
  • If your portfolio is all polished brand work with no performance behind it, this probably isn't a fit. If you’ve made scrappy work that outperformed the expensive stuff and you can prove it (thumb-stop rate, hold rate, CPA), send that.

What we're looking for

  • 3+ years running paid social with real budget authority; you've personally owned the spend and been accountable for its return, not just its delivery.
  • You make things. Copy, static, short-form video, whatever the platform is rewarding this quarter. Concept to post, without waiting on a designer.
  • Organic instincts. You know what makes people stop scrolling and what makes them follow, and you can tell the difference between a post that performed and a post that mattered.
  • You think about incrementality. Holdouts, geo splits, or something equally honest. You know why platform-reported ROAS is generous.
  • Numbers don't scare you. CAC, payback, contribution. You can defend a budget request with math.
  • You're resourceful and analytical. When performance drops, you don't wait for someone to tell you what to do. You diagnose the problem, develop a hypothesis, and get to work testing a solution.
  • You're AI native. You've used AI in your daily workflow for the last couple of years, with a real point of view on what you've used it to generate, iterate, and automate, and where it falls down.
  • Volume over polish. Something imperfect this week beats something perfect next month.
  • You're a fast learner. The platforms change constantly, and you pick up new tools and new ways of buying quickly.
  • You can work daily from our San Francisco office.
