About the Role
Kroll's Restructuring practice provides solutions to banks, asset-based lenders, private equity firms, law firms, financial sponsors, corporates and other stakeholders facing stressed, distressed and special situations.
Business Development within Kroll Restructuring serves as the practice's sales enablement function and commercial engine, providing the tools, materials, reporting and infrastructure that help practitioners build relationships, develop opportunities and win work.
We are seeking a commercially minded Business Development Manager to join this team. Working closely with senior practitioners across the business, the successful candidate will help drive the execution of business development priorities, coordinate strategic initiatives, manage target client and referral programmes, develop business development collateral and support reporting and performance management across the practice.
This role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys working across multiple stakeholders, managing competing priorities and bringing structure, organisation and discipline to a fast-paced professional services environment
Key Responsibilities
Business Development Strategy & Execution
- Support the delivery of individual and territory business development plans across the Restructuring practice, helping translate strategic priorities into measurable action.
- Coordinate target client, referral source and key account programmes, ensuring relationship plans, meetings and follow-up actions are progressed.
- Drive accountability for business development activity by tracking progress against agreed actions, priorities and objectives
Sales Enablement & Client Pursuits
- Develop and maintain credentials, proposals, case studies, and other business development collateral.
- Coordinate pitch opportunities and proposal processes, working with practitioners to develop client-facing materials.
- Equip practitioners with the tools, information and resources needed to build relationships, pursue opportunities and win work.
Reporting, Pipeline Management & Governance
- Maintain opportunity, pipeline and revenue data within Salesforce to support accurate reporting.
- Ensure client meetings, business development activity and target account engagement are consistently captured and maintained.
- Produce reporting, dashboards and insights to inform strategic priorities and decision-making
Requirements
- 5+ years in business development, sales enablement, commercial operations or client-facing support roles within a professional services or consulting environment (restructuring background preferred).
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, deadlines and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Proven ability to develop client-facing materials, including credentials, proposals, presentations and pitch materials.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms (preferably Salesforce) to support pipeline management, reporting and business development governance.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of how professional services firms win, deliver and grow client engagements.
- Comfortable operating in a global, matrixed environment and collaborating across multiple offices, and geographies.
- Highly organised, proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to build credibility and influence senior stakeholders.
- Knowledge of restructuring, insolvency, special situations, financial advisory or related professional services sectors preferred but not essential.
