Who this fits

This hands-on role suits someone comfortable shaping launch creative with little past performance data, using research and judgment to guide decisions. Applicants are asked to submit a résumé and relevant creative portfolio.

From the employer

First Media is looking for an experienced Creative Strategist with a strong track record of developing creative strategies for new client and product launches.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can take a client and product new to First Media, understand its market and potential customers, and turn research and consumer insights into compelling advertising concepts and scripts that drive customer acquisition.

You'll be responsible for identifying key audience segments, understanding their motivations and purchase behaviors, developing creative angles and messaging, and building an initial creative testing strategy. You'll need to be comfortable making informed decisions with limited historical performance data, using research, creative judgment, and proven performance marketing best practices to guide your approach.

Working closely with our production and media teams, you'll take creative from initial research through to scripting, production and launch.

What You'll Do

  • Lead launch research: Develop a strong understanding of new clients' products, markets, competitors and value propositions. Research customer segments, motivations, pain points and purchase triggers to identify the strongest creative opportunities.
  • Develop audience-led creative strategies: Translate consumer insights into distinct messaging angles, creative concepts, and testing strategies tailored to different customer groups.
  • Concept and script: Write compelling direct-response advertising concepts, hooks, and scripts for paid social, ensuring creative communicates the product's value and resonates with the intended audience.
  • Apply launch best practices: Use proven creative frameworks, performance marketing principles and previous campaign learnings to establish effective initial testing strategies for new clients.
  • Make informed creative decisions: Confidently develop and prioritize creative hypotheses when historical performance data is limited, using research, experience and commercial judgment.
  • Guide creative execution: Brief and collaborate with producers, editors and designers to bring concepts to life, providing clear creative direction and feedback.
  • Learn and optimize: Work with performance marketing teams to evaluate early results, identify opportunities, and evolve the creative strategy as campaign data develops.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Creative Strategist, Performance Creative Strategist, Direct Response Copywriter, or similar.
  • Demonstrable experience developing creative strategies for new client, product, or brand launches, ideally within an agency or performance marketing environment.
  • Strong consumer research skills, with the ability to identify distinct audience segments, understand customer psychology, and uncover compelling purchase motivations.
  • Exceptional conceptual thinking and copywriting skills, with experience developing direct-response advertising concepts, hooks, and scripts.
  • Strong understanding of paid social advertising, particularly Meta, and how creative influences customer acquisition and campaign performance.
  • Comfortable working with limited historical data, forming hypotheses and making strategic creative recommendations from research and experience.
  • Experience collaborating with production, creative, and performance marketing teams.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

How to Apply

Please submit your résumé and a portfolio of relevant creative work. We're particularly interested in examples of new client or product launches you've worked on, including how you approached the research, identified audiences, developed the creative strategy, and translated it into advertising concepts.
