In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Drive revenue growth by identifying and converting sales opportunities through inbound inquiries, lead generation activities, follow-ups, cross-selling, and upselling, helping Cummins achieve its sales, revenue, and margin targets.
- Deliver exceptional customer experiences throughout the sales cycle by applying the Cummins Sales Process, ensuring customers receive timely, accurate, and value-driven support from initial inquiry through to order fulfillment.
- Strengthen customer relationships and loyalty by proactively engaging with customers, understanding their business needs, resolving concerns efficiently, and positioning Cummins as their preferred supplier.
- Enable the sales team to be more effective and productive by managing quotations, supporting RFP responses, qualifying leads, maintaining customer data, and coordinating key sales administration activities.
- Improve sales forecasting and business visibility through accurate CRM updates, sales reporting, pipeline management, and forecast tracking, allowing stakeholders to make informed business decisions.
- Support operational excellence and customer satisfaction by collaborating with internal teams to align inventory, delivery capabilities, and service expectations, ensuring commitments made to customers are successfully executed.
- Protect and grow existing customer accounts by troubleshooting transaction issues, assisting with receivables escalations, supporting account setup processes, and identifying opportunities for repeat business and expanded partnerships.
- Contribute to continuous business growth and cross-functional success by identifying process improvements, promoting collaboration across departments, and supporting Cummins' culture, customer-centric goals, and long-term market growth strategy.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Develop a strong commercial and sales mindset by leveraging your negotiation skills, pricing knowledge, profitability awareness, and ability to identify territory growth opportunities that drive sustainable revenue across multiple markets.
- Build deep customer and market understanding by integrating the customer perspective into sales strategies, understanding distributor and key account needs, and tailoring solutions across engines, power generation, parts, and service offerings.
- Master forecasting and pipeline management by using Salesforce and other sales tools to maintain an accurate pipeline, assess opportunities, forecast demand, prioritize high-impact activities, and execute territory sales plans effectively.
- Demonstrate strong relationship-building and adaptability by collaborating with diverse stakeholders across West and Central Africa, adapting communication styles to different cultures, and maintaining strong partnerships with customers, distributors, and internal teams.
Bilingual proficiency in French and English, including strong written and verbal communication skills, is a mandatory requirement
- Degree or Diploma/Certificate in the field of Sales, Marketing, Business or related field.
- Experience as a quote analyst, or sales support functions (including customer service or commercial experience) desirable.
- Limited travel may be required.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
