The Opportunity:

This role focuses on growing sales of bulk fuels, lubricants, DEF, propane, and related energy products while delivering exceptional customer service and supporting the overall success of the Co-op. The responsibilities for this position include the following:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with agricultural producers, commercial businesses, transportation fleets, and industrial customers.
  • Develop new business opportunities while expanding sales within existing accounts.
  • Promote and sell bulk diesel, gasoline, lubricants, DEF, propane, heating fuels, and related energy products.
  • Conduct regular customer farm and business visits to identify opportunities and provide product recommendations.
  • Prepare quotations, pricing proposals, and sales agreements.
  • Work closely with dispatch and operations teams to coordinate product deliveries and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Manage customer accounts, including monitoring credit requirements and payment performance.
  • Stay informed on market conditions, fuel pricing trends, and competitor activities.
  • Participate in community events, trade shows, customer appreciation functions, and industry meetings.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, activity reports, and sales forecasts.
  • Achieve sales volume, margin, and profitability objectives established by the Co-op.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

  • Diploma or degree in Agriculture, Business, Marketing, or Commerce is preferred.
  • Equivalent sales experience in petroleum, lubricants, agriculture, transportation, or industrial sectors will be considered.
  • Proven success in outside sales, business development, or account management.
  • Knowledge of agricultural operations, equipment, and energy requirements is considered a strong asset.
  • Understanding of fuel, lubricant, propane, or petroleum products is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.
