What you'll do

  • Set the events plan and calendar, rank each show, and define its meeting goal before committing
  • Control event spending and negotiate sponsorships, booth arrangements, and vendor agreements
  • Run show logistics from exhibitor deadlines and shipping through booth setup, staffing, and on-site delivery
  • Coordinate with SDRs and AEs to book show meetings, then route leads in HubSpot within two days of closing
  • Track event costs, meetings, and pipeline for leadership, choose which shows to change, and document the repeatable process

What you bring

  • At least four years in B2B event or field marketing, with ownership of strategy and budget
  • You have delivered twelve or more events per quarter, from large booths to walk-the-floor formats, through follow-up
  • You can show event budget management and calculate cost per meeting for shows you ran
  • You build vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and stay composed when plans shift under pressure

Who this fits

This is a hands-on manager role with physical event work and frequent coordination with sales. Expect travel of about thirty percent, often spending several days at convention centers. The role is in person in San Francisco four days per week, and Bobyard cannot sponsor a work visa for this position.

From the employer

About Bobyard

Construction is a multi-trillion-dollar industry that still estimates by hand. Contractors measure and count materials off drawings manually, and it caps how many jobs they can bid. Bobyard uses computer vision and NLP to automate takeoffs and estimates, so contractors bid faster and win more. We raised a $35M Series A led by 8VC, with Primary and Pear, and we're growing fast.

About the role

Contractors buy from people they've met, and a lot of those meetings happen on a trade show floor. You'll own Bobyard's events program across the trades we serve: landscaping, electrical, mechanical, concrete, and more. You'll set our events strategy, decide which events are worth it, run the biggest ones yourself, and report what each one returned in meetings and pipeline. You'll partner closely with sales, and plans will change often. The work is physical and show weeks are long. The payoff is knowing exactly which events win us customers.

What you'll do

  • Set the events strategy and annual calendar, tier every event, and set a meetings target for each one before we sign

  • Own the event budget and negotiate sponsorships, booth space, and vendor contracts

  • Run booth logistics end to end: exhibitor deadlines, shipping, booth build, staffing, and on-site execution

  • Work with our SDRs and AEs to book meetings before every show and staff the booth with the right people

  • Get every lead into HubSpot and in front of the right rep within 48 hours of the show closing

  • Report what each event cost and returned to leadership, and decide which events to drop, keep, or expand

  • Write the playbook so each show runs faster than the last

What we're looking for

  • 4+ years in event marketing or field marketing at a B2B company, including owning an events strategy and budget

  • You've run 12 or more events a quarter, from major booths to walk-the-floor shows, contract to follow-up

  • You've managed an event budget and can tell us the cost per meeting for shows you ran

  • You work well with sales, including when they push back on your plan

  • Strong vendor management and contract negotiation

  • Calm under pressure. A crate goes missing at 6am and the booth still opens on time. The plan changes the night before and you adjust.

  • Comfortable traveling about 30%, often to convention centers for several days at a time

Nice to have

  • Construction, trades, or industrial trade show experience

  • Experience routing event leads in HubSpot or Salesforce

  • Experience bringing customers to the booth or onto a speaking panel

  • Experience as the first or only events hire at a startup

What we offer

  • $120K–$140K base + equity (4-year vest, 1-year cliff)

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage

  • 401(k) with a 100% match up to 4%

  • Catered lunch in the office and $70 a month toward your commute

  • A calendar and budget that are yours to shape, with results our leadership reads
