Role brief

growthroles summary, based on the employer's posting.

What you'll do

  • Select field events and formats, then handle budgets, venues, invitations, staffing and follow-up from start to finish
  • Coordinate with sales on target accounts and plan each event's outreach, conversations and next steps
  • Set pipeline goals for field activity, measure invite-to-opportunity conversion and use results to choose repeat programs
  • Build reusable event templates, playbooks and CRM tracking, while shaping booths and collateral with design
  • Attend events, adapt when plans change and share buyer feedback with product, sales and marketing

What you bring

  • At least eight years in field, event or account-based marketing for enterprise sales, including two years leading a team
  • A record of field programs generating pipeline, plus hands-on account-based marketing and intent-data experience
  • Working fluency with Salesforce or HubSpot, Luma and AI tools

Who this fits

This suits a leader ready to run programs hands-on initially and build a team over time. The role is based onsite in San Francisco and includes travel to events. Visa sponsorship is available.

From the employer

The role

You'll be our first field marketer and own how Applied Compute shows up in person, from executive dinners to major conferences. You'll work directly with our account executives, GTM and design teams, and Head of Operations to turn each program into pipeline, and build the playbook the team scales from.

What you'll do

  • Own the field calendar. Choose the events and formats worth our time, and run each one end to end, including budget, venue, invites, staffing, and follow up.

  • Run an account based motion. Work with sales to get the right accounts in the right rooms, and plan the before, during, and after so every conversation has a next step.

  • Own the number. Set pipeline targets for field programs, track conversion from invite to opportunity, and tell us which programs to run again.

  • Be in the room. Travel to our events, represent Applied Compute, and make the call when plans change.

  • Bring the field back. Share what you hear from buyers with product, sales, and marketing.

  • Build systems that scale. Create the templates, playbooks, and CRM tracking that make the motion repeatable.

  • Make every room feel like us. Work with design on booths, signage, swag, and collateral that look like Applied Compute.

What we're looking for

  • 8+ years in field, event, or account based marketing supporting enterprise sales, including 2+ years leading a team, ideally at an infrastructure, developer tools, or AI company

  • A leader who wants to be hands on again. You'll run programs yourself at the start and build the team as we grow

  • Field programs that produced pipeline you can point to

  • Hands on experience with account based programs and using intent data to prioritize

  • Strong organization. You can run programs in several cities at once without anything slipping

  • Good taste in what makes an event worth attending

  • Fluency with Salesforce or HubSpot, Luma, and AI tools

  • Willingness to travel

Strong candidates also have

  • Been the first field marketer at a fast growing startup

  • Run joint programs with larger partners

  • Curiosity about AI and comfort talking with engineers and researchers

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $135,000–$243,000. Total compensation for this role also includes meaningful equity in a fast-growing startup, along with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support you both personally and professionally. Base salary is determined by a range of factors including individual qualifications, experience, skills, interview performance, market data, and work location. The listed salary range is intended as a guideline and may be adjusted.

About us

Applied Compute builds Specific Intelligence for the enterprise. We provide the continual learning infrastructure for companies to build agent workforces trained on proprietary data and institutional expertise. Our researchers and platform embed directly within customer environments to build custom evals, train models, and deploy agents that get better with use.

  • Why we’re excited: We get to work at a rare intersection. Our product team builds the platform powering a new generation of digital coworkers. Our research team pushes the frontier of post-training and reinforcement learning. Our applied AI team sits side-by-side with customers as they ship agents into production. This combination of strong product, deep research, and boots on the ground is what we believe it takes to bring AI to the enterprise. We are product-led, research-enabled, and forward-deployed.

  • Who we are: We’re a team of engineers, researchers, and operators. Many of us are former founders. We've built RL infrastructure at OpenAI, data foundations at Scale AI, and systems at Together, Two Sigma, Watershed, and others. We work with F50 customers and are fortunate to be backed by partners like Kleiner Perkins, Benchmark, Sequoia, Lux, and Greenoaks.

  • Who Thrives Here: We're looking for people who are excited about applying novel research and complex systems to real-world problems. Our team genuinely enjoys working with customers: listening, empathizing, and understanding how work actually gets done in their organizations. Former founders, people who've built a lot of side projects, or anyone who's shown they can own something end-to-end, tend to do well here.
