Summary
You will lead the commercial development and growth of SKF Insight Bearing Solutions across North America, with additional opportunities in South America. This is a hands-on business-building role requiring a strong combination of heavy-industry experience, condition-monitoring and reliability knowledge, and a proven ability to sell complex technical solutions consultatively.
Working in an entrepreneurial, start-up-like environment within SKF, you will help shape the market approach, build the opportunity pipeline and convert customer reliability challenges into commercially viable solutions. Success requires comfort with ambiguity, personal ownership and close collaboration with industry leaders, local sales teams, engineering specialists and customers.
SKF Insight Bearing Solutions integrate fiber-optic sensing directly into the bearings of rotating equipment. Each opportunity requires a machine-specific solution covering engineering, fiber routing, interrogator integration, installation, commissioning and ongoing data interpretation. You will sell a complete reliability solution combining engineered hardware, services and actionable insights that improve uptime, throughput and quality.
This is not traditional product sales. You will engage multiple customer stakeholders and build credibility with maintenance managers, reliability engineers, engineering teams, operations leaders and process owners.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and execute the commercial plan in collaboration with industry leaders, product-line colleagues and local SKF sales teams.
- Identify high-value applications where condition-monitoring or reliability gaps exist and proactively build a strong opportunity pipeline.
- Develop the market for a growing solution, including opening new customer conversations, establishing repeatable ways of working and helping shape the value proposition.
- Engage maintenance, reliability, engineering, operations and commercial stakeholders to understand customer challenges and define fit-for-purpose technical solutions.
- Translate technical measurements and reliability needs into clear business value linked to uptime, throughput, quality and risk reduction.
- Lead the full commercial process, including opportunity qualification, solution development, proposals, technical-commercial discussions, negotiations and contract closure.
- Coordinate closely with engineering, installation, commissioning and data-service specialists to ensure a credible and complete customer solution.
- Maintain disciplined opportunity and KPI tracking, communicate progress and risks, and provide clear updates to key stakeholders.
- Capture customer and market feedback to support the continued evolution of the product, service offering and commercial approach.
What You Bring:
- Strong experience working in, or selling technical solutions into, heavy industries such as mining, cement, metals, pulp and paper, or other asset-intensive sectors.
- Practical knowledge of condition monitoring and industrial reliability, including technologies such as vibration analysis, acoustic sensing, fiber-optic sensing, load measurement or similar solutions.
- A proven track record of consultative selling, involving complex, customized and sensor-based technical solutions. You will bring credibility with maintenance, reliability, engineering, operations and commercial stakeholders, together with the ability to translate technical measurements and reliability challenges into a clear customer business case and customized sensor-based solution.
- An entrepreneurial, hands-on approach, with the ability to build a market, develop opportunities and create structure while processes and products continue to evolve. You will be comfortable operating with ambiguity, taking personal ownership and moving between strategic planning and practical execution.
- Confidence working across technical and commercial teams in a global, matrix organization.
- Strong communication, stakeholder-management, negotiation and commercial judgment.
- An engineering degree or equivalent relevant industrial experience is preferred.
