JOB OVERVIEW:

We’re looking for an ambitious and driven Social Media Manager to lead strategy and storytelling for @the.team.nfl, THE·TEAM’s dedicated Football social platform. This role will oversee social content highlighting THE·TEAM’s football ecosystem across high school, college and the NFL, including our talent representation, NIL, marketing, partnerships and cross-disciplinary work across sports and entertainment.

If you’re passionate about the intersection of American football, athletes and culture, this is a strong opportunity to make an impact.

A key focus of this role will be managing and evolving content approaches across player moments, signings, NIL, gamedays, the NFL Draft, free agency, partnerships and other major moments across the football calendar.

THE·TEAM works in a fast-paced environment, so the ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running, thrive in a demanding and often reactive sports environment and work brilliantly in a team environment, while being equally comfortable working independently.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead social strategy and content planning for @the.team.nfl, with clear channel roles, content pillars and a repeatable testing framework across Instagram and potential emerging platforms.
  • Tell the broader story of THE·TEAM’s football ecosystem across high school, college and the NFL.
  • Proactively develop and execute content calendars aligned with player moments, partnerships and business priorities.
  • Translate athlete stories, client wins, cultural moments and brand initiatives into engaging, social-first storytelling.
  • Manage content building, copywriting, post publishing, community engagement and performance tracking.
  • Develop and scale content around key American football moments including signings, NIL announcements, gamedays, the NFL Draft, free agency, training camp, the regular season, playoffs and the Super Bowl.
  • Work closely with THE·TEAM’s football talent representation teams to understand individual player journeys, emerging talent, business priorities and opportunities for storytelling.
  • Work closely with the global communications department to execute and uphold THE·TEAM’s overall marketing and communications strategy.
  • Collaborate with Creative to produce high-impact, social-first content across formats including graphics, short-form video, carousels and real-time content.
  • Build creative and editorial frameworks to ensure content is culturally relevant, engaging and consistent with the account’s evolving visual identity.
  • Identify trends, moments and stories that can attract new audiences, showcase our talent and demonstrate THE·TEAM’s expertise within American football.
  • Balance client expectations and stakeholder needs with overarching brand goals, direction and guidelines.
  • Travel onsite for key moments in the football calendar to create compelling content born out of integration with events, teams and clients.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 2+ years of agency-side or brand experience developing social media creative, editing copy and engaging with an audience.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with experience using tools like Asana or similar platforms to manage workflows and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with native Instagram/LinkedIn Insights and CMS tools like Sprinklr.
  • Extensive knowledge of social media best practices and emerging trends.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong relationship-management skills, internally and with clients.
  • High standard of excellence, with the flexibility to work nontraditional hours when needed and anticipate challenges with thoughtful communication.
  • Flawless spelling and grammar.
  • Video capture, editing, production and on-camera abilities using tools such as CapCut, Edits and Premiere Pro.
  • Strong awareness of cultural trends across sports, music and entertainment.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Keynote, Slack and Box.
  • An insatiable passion for and extensive knowledge of American football, including the NFL, college football, NIL and the broader football landscape.
