Social Media Coordinator to Founder & CEO

tarte cosmetics is seeking a social-savvy, highly creative and organized Social Media Coordinator to support our Founder & CEO. This role is ideal for an experienced content creator and social media professional who understands how to turn everyday moments into engaging, platform-relevant content while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The Social Media Coordinator will help manage the day-to-day execution of the CEO’s social presence, including content planning, filming, editing, publishing and community engagement. This individual will also maintain the CEO’s content calendar, manage social commerce platforms and coordinate with internal teams to ensure content is timely, engaging and aligned with both the CEO’s voice and tarte’s brand.

This is a hybrid position based in the New York City area and requires the ability to work onsite at least three days per week. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends and travel frequently is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the end-to-end creation and publishing of social content, including brainstorming, filming, editing, caption writing, scheduling and posting
  • Create engaging, high-quality content that reflects the CEO’s voice, personal brand and day-to-day activities
  • Own and maintain the CEO’s social content calendar, ensuring deliverables, approvals and publishing timelines stay on track
  • Develop platform-specific content ideas that support audience growth, engagement and brand storytelling
  • Monitor social trends, emerging formats, viral sounds and cultural conversations to identify timely content opportunities
  • Manage the CEO’s social media profiles and social commerce accounts, including Amazon Storefront, LTK and ShopMy
  • Write on-brand captions, video scripts, social copy and other short-form content
  • Lead day-to-day community management by monitoring comments, engaging with followers and escalating important messages or opportunities
  • Coordinate with internal social, creative, communications, influencer and marketing teams to support launches, events and key brand moments
  • Organize content files, raw footage, drafts, approvals and links to maintain an efficient and accessible workflow
  • Monitor content performance and platform insights, identifying trends and recommending ways to strengthen reach and engagement
  • Provide onsite and real-time content support during meetings, events, product launches, travel and other key moments
  • Manage multiple projects and shifting priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy, responsiveness and discretion
  • Support select personal and administrative needs, including coordinating packages, returns, product orders and other day-to-day requests
  • Take on additional social, creative and coordination projects as needed

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience in social media management, content creation, influencer marketing, executive social support or a related role
  • Demonstrated experience managing social content calendars and coordinating content from concept through publication
  • Strong short-form video filming and editing skills, with proficiency in tools such as CapCut, TikTok and Instagram
  • In-depth knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat and emerging social platforms, including current trends, features and best practices
  • Strong copywriting skills and the ability to adapt content to match an established voice and personal brand
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • Creative, resourceful and proactive, with strong instincts for identifying compelling content opportunities in real time
  • Comfortable working closely with a Founder & CEO and handling sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects and respond quickly to changing needs
  • Comfortable balancing social media responsibilities with select administrative and personal-assistant tasks
  • Flexibility to work outside traditional business hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently, sometimes with limited notice
  • Based in the greater New York City area and able to work onsite at least three days per week
  • Proficiency with AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini
  • Experience with social commerce or affiliate platforms such as Amazon Storefront, LTK and ShopMy is strongly preferred
