Who this fits
This role suits a high-output maker who wants to appear on camera, move from insight to published content quickly, and use results to guide the next test. It is an onsite position in San Francisco. Superpower offers visa sponsorship and relocation support for qualified candidates.
From the employer
We're looking for a performance creative strategist who concepts, scripts, and shoots their own content, then reads the data to make the next one win. You'll be on camera, behind the camera, and in the dashboard. 3–5 short-form videos a week, 2–3 personas owned end-to-end, and a fast loop between what you shot and what you shoot next.
This is not a briefing role. You are the maker. You'll work alongside our lead strategist and grow into a senior creator-strategist role as your concepts scale.
About the Role
You own the full creative loop: customer psychology → format research → concept → script → shoot → edit → performance read → next iteration. You'll appear on camera, write your own scripts, cut your own UGC, and report on what worked. The lead strategist sets the roadmap with you; you turn customer insight and proven formats into content that ships.
What You'll Own
Make the content. Concept, script, shoot, and edit 3–5 short-form videos per week (TikTok, Reels, IG/FB). Comfortable on camera, hypothesis to publishable asset in under 48 hours.
Concept from psychology and format, not a vibe. Every piece ties to a specific hook, angle, persona, fear, desire, objection, belief gap, or format insight. You can say out loud who it's for, why it should matter to them, and what you expect it to do.
Own persona research. Run research across 2–3 personas (Reddit, reviews, support tickets) and build the language bank you script from. Your hooks come from how customers actually talk.
Hunt formats that are working. Stay close to what's performing across TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts, Meta ads, and competitor creative. Build a read on which hooks, structures, edits, and story arcs are getting traction, then bring the strongest ones into the testing roadmap fast.
Test new formats first. When a format looks promising, don't wait for a perfect brief. Adapt it to Superpower, ship a clean version, read the result, and decide whether to kill it, iterate it, or scale it.
Read your own performance. Pull the dashboard weekly, separate winners from losers, write the one-page retro, and feed it into next week's concepts. Delivered every Monday.
Run the iteration flywheel. Double down on winning hooks, kill losers fast, and version the formats that scale.
Document the playbook. Log every winning hook, format, and angle in Notion so the next creator ramps faster.
Co-own the roadmap. Plan the next 4 weeks of tests with the lead strategist and back your priorities with data.
What We're Looking For
Experience
2–4 years making performance creative at a DTC or growth-stage company, or a creator portfolio that proves you can produce volume at quality
At least one piece of content that scaled to $20K+/month in spend — and you can walk through exactly why it worked
At least one round of structured customer research feeding your creative
Experience translating customer psychology into hooks, angles, and scripts that drove performance
Skills
Concept, script, shoot, and edit short-form video end-to-end, including on camera
Read paid social data fluently: CTR, CPA, hook rate, hold rate — and translate it into your next concept
Mine customer language and turn it into hooks that stop the scroll
Understand customer psychology: pains, desires, objections, motivations, belief gaps, emotional triggers, identity shifts
Strong format taste — you can spot high-performing structures before they're obvious internally
Know the difference between a surface-level insight and a true buying trigger
Mindset
High-output maker who wants to ship and develop fast
Always watching what formats are working, saving examples, pattern-matching what's breaking through, and bringing fresh tests to the team
Comfortable being the face of the content and putting your work in market quickly
