Who this fits

This role suits a senior relationship leader who can win Tier 1 clients, work across banking teams, and grow North Asian relationships. You will need to operate in English and Mandarin, adapt to new cultures and internal bank rules, and eventually lead a dedicated coverage team.

  • Actively utilize the SMBC Group's regional franchise in North Asia (particularly Taiwan and Hong Kong) to identify and convert existing Group customers into active wealth management relationships with SMBC PW.
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders across corporate, commercial, and investment banking to generate referrals and maximize wallet share.
  • Work closely with CBAP teams and senior management across North Asian markets to develop and deepen common client relationships, identify joint business opportunities, and drive collaboration across the SMBC Group franchise.
  • Promote SMBC PW's credit capabilities and fee-based solutions to drive sustainable revenue growth and achieve targeted ROA and ROE metrics.

d) Contribution to Platform Development

  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the SMBC PW platform, including process improvement, product development feedback, and best-practice sharing.
  • Support initiatives that strengthen the franchise's value proposition, operational efficiency, and overall client experience.
  • As the business expands, take a leadership role in building and developing a dedicated coverage team focused on North Asian clientele, including talent development, client strategy execution, and team performance management.
