SUMMARY
The Seattle Seahawks are seeking a Sr. Manager, Social Media to serve as a leader for the team’s social media staff (full-time, part-time, and external agencies). As a department leader you will set the direction and plan for social content team while proactively providing mentorship and career development of the group. This role will oversee day-to-day programming and content creation for Seahawks channels while providing strategic recommendations on best practices for the organization’s catalogue of digital content. Additionally, this role will manage the team’s main account on Instagram, X, Facebook, Snapchat, Threads, YouTube and TikTok, while providing support on various other platforms and channels as assigned. This candidate must be an excellent writer with a strong background in social media management and possess an understanding of what works and what does not work on multiple social media platforms. Their strategic decisions are based on analytical performance, and the candidate has a keen understanding of how to optimize content on specific channels. While this role will be empowered to pursue content ideas of their own, they will frequently collaborate with other content creators in the video production and design departments to build and deliver content. This candidate should have an extensive background in content creation and curation and a proven track record of success in previous roles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Manage Seahawks social media staff – both full-time and part-time teammates – ensuring all assignments and appropriate messaging is relayed in a timely manner
  • Provide guidance for social media staff to in order to further develop skills and build upon organization culture
  • Stay informed on recent social media trends, serving as an asset to social media team – and other internal groups – on how best to distribute and optimize content
  • Oversee day-to-day content programming on Seahawks owned social platforms
  • Play key role in curation of the main Seahawks social media accounts including: Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, Threads, Snapchat, LinkedIn and future emerging platforms
  • Ensure all social content adheres to the guidelines and communication policies related to each respective brand and specific platform
  • Develop deep understanding of NFL social media policies and operating framework. Ensure execution of content plan adheres to all policies
  • Generate content ideas to entertain, inform and drive engagement across a wide variety of social media accounts related to the Seahawks brand and First & Goal Inc. throughout the calendar year
  • Oversee Seahawks international accounts, including Seahawks Canada, Seahawks Deutsch and Seahawks AUNZ. Also provides support and content strategy recommendations for aforementioned agencies and staff
  • Support Lumen Field, WAMU Theater and First & Goal LLC in the promotion of non-Seahawks events including concerts and other sporting events
  • Monitor and track social media KPIs, providing reports to leadership and use findings to continuously improve overall performance
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from multiple departments within the organization to achieve key business objectives
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of four years of experience in a social media in a full-time role
  • Minimum three years managing a team of multiple full-time social media professionals
  • Experience with managing external vendor and contractor relationships
  • Strong eye for social-friendly content, with ability to understand what will perform well
  • Understanding of the game of football
  • Above average fluency in social media platforms, including emerging platforms, as well as their analytics
  • Basic photo and video editing experience (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work well under tight deadlines and thrive in the 24/7 NFL news cycle, handling multiple tasks at once with great attention to detail
  • Thrive in a team setting where working and interacting with others is essential for content creation
  • Interest and experience in the sports and entertainment industry is a plus
  • Must be able to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, early mornings and holidays
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
  • The salary range for this position is: $95,000 – $105,000. The salary range applies to the current posting. The posted salary range may vary based on key factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related knowledge, experience and skill set.
