Who this fits

This role suits a marketer who can lead global event launches while staying hands-on with messaging, coordination and performance analysis. You’ll work from the Mexico City hub three days a week. Strong English is required, and the role includes handling sensitive employee, customer or company financial information, with a background check after a conditional offer.

From the employer

Scopely is looking for a Product Marketing Manager, Live Events, to join our Pokémon GO! Team in Mexico City on a hybrid basis, working 3 days a week from the hub.

At Scopely, we care deeply about what we do and want to inspire play, every day - whether in our work environments alongside our talented colleagues, or through our deep connections with our communities of players. We are a global team of game lovers who are developing, publishing and innovating the mobile games industry, connecting millions of people around the world daily.

What You Will Do

In this role, you’ll lead product marketing for our global portfolio of real-world Pokémon GO experiences, from major tentpole events to scaled live event programs.

You will combine strategic thinking, creative marketing, cross-functional leadership, and an AI-forward mindset to shape the positioning, branding, and market launch of Pokémon GO live events. You will translate product, player, and business priorities into compelling reasons for Trainers to participate both in-game and in the real world, while using advanced AI tools to accelerate insights, planning, creative exploration, and execution.

  • Own the end-to-end product marketing strategy for assigned Pokémon GO live events, defining objectives, audiences, positioning, marketing approach, and go-to-market plans that support player and business goals
  • Partner with Production, Game Design, Product Management, and other cross-functional leaders to help shape event concepts and connect the in-game and real-world experience. Ensure marketing reflects the full event experience and communicates player value clearly across physical and digital touchpoints
  • Translate event concepts, gameplay, player insights, and regional context into clear positioning, value propositions, campaign narratives, naming and messaging frameworks, and player-facing communications.
  • Develop creative briefs and partner with internal creative teams, agencies, regional teams, and external partners to bring campaign concepts and assets to life
  • Build global marketing plans across web, social, CRM/direct marketing, community, PR, creators, platform partnerships, paid media, and regional channels, enabling local adaptation based on player behavior, cultural insights, market opportunities, and on-the-ground expertise
  • Coordinate stakeholders across functions and regions, including brand, licensing, and external partners, to align on positioning, branding, creative, communications, approvals, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and launch readiness. Identify risks and trade-offs and keep complex event marketing work moving from concept through post-event learning
  • stablish KPIs and success criteria upfront, partner with Analytics and cross-functional teams to evaluate performance, and turn event and campaign learnings into recommendations for future programs. Help direct creative resources, agency support, channel investment, and marketing budgets toward the highest-impact player and business opportunities
  • Use leading AI capabilities to accelerate insight synthesis, strategic planning, campaign ideation, localization support, project workflows, quality control, and performance analysis. Build repeatable AI-enabled processes that improve speed and quality while applying strong judgment around accuracy, confidentiality, IP, brand standards, and human review
  • Champion the Trainer perspective by bringing a deep understanding of players, live event attendees, community sentiment, and participation barriers into event concepting and marketing decisions

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing, consumer marketing, integrated marketing, live events marketing, entertainment marketing, or related disciplines, with experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies for consumer products, experiences, or live-service businesses
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives involving Product, Creative, Marketing, Production, regional teams, and external partners. Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority, navigate trade-offs, and manage overlapping timelines
  • Strong understanding of positioning, messaging, audience segmentation, campaign strategy, brand development, and integrated marketing, with the ability to move comfortably from high-level strategy into hands-on execution
  • Experience using player, product, campaign, and/or event data to identify opportunities, establish success metrics, measure performance, and inform future strategy
  • Advanced fluency with AI-powered tools and a demonstrated ability to apply them meaningfully to marketing strategy and execution, build efficient workflows, critically evaluate outputs, and use AI responsibly in a brand- and partner-sensitive environment
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to create clarity, drive alignment, and communicate recommendations to senior stakeholders and external partners in a global business
  • Strong English language skills are required for this role, as we have a highly diverse and global business
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to operate effectively across overlapping event timelines in a fast-moving live-service environment
  • Collaborative working style and demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority, navigate trade-offs, and work effectively across tightly integrated cross-functional teams
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience

Bonus Points

  • Experience marketing large-scale live events, experiential programs, location-based entertainment, or other real-world consumer experiences, including campaigns that connect digital product experiences with in-person activations
  • Experience marketing mobile or free-to-play games, or working on a live-service product with frequent content and event cadence
  • Experience developing marketing strategies with global and regional teams across multiple markets and cultures
  • Experience building or scaling AI-enabled marketing workflows, experimentation frameworks, knowledge systems, or creative processes that improved team speed, decision quality, or campaign effectiveness
  • Experience partnering directly with Product Management, Game Design, Production, and/or live event teams, particularly within major entertainment or licensed IP environments with complex approval processes
  • Understanding of Pokémon GO, its community, and the broader Pokémon franchise
  • Experience working with Japanese business partners or proficiency in Japanese

We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities and welcome individuals from all backgrounds to join us & embrace the adventure!

This role will have access to sensitive and/or confidential employee or customer personally identifiable information (PII) and/or Company financial information, and therefore will be subject to background checks upon receiving a conditional offer of employment.
