From the employer

📍 Location: Dallas, TX
🏢 Department: Data Center Development
🕒 Employment Type: Full-Time | In-Office)

Position Overview:
Provident Data Centers is looking for an experienced marketing leader to build the full-scope marketing function for our data center development platform as we continue to grow across the United States. You'll own marketing strategy, brand and positioning, demand generation and account-based marketing, events, content, digital and marketing technology, and communications, and you'll build the processes, budget, partners, and eventually the team needed to run it.

Reporting to the Managing Partner, you'll be a strategic partner to Provident Data Centers' leadership team. That means bringing informed perspectives, challenging assumptions constructively, and helping shape decisions about how the platform goes to market. Provident Data Centers speaks to very different audiences, from hyperscale and enterprise customers and capital partners to utilities, communities, and local governments. Each needs to understand the platform in its own terms, and positioning Provident Data Centers clearly for every one of them sits at the center of this role.

The environment moves quickly and won't always come with a detailed playbook. We see that as an opportunity. You’ll set direction, create structure where it doesn’t yet exist, and help the platform communicate with clarity and consistency.

Who Thrives Here: You're energized by building, comfortable creating the roadmap, and confident making progress without waiting for perfect information. If you've built a successful marketing function before and are ready to do it again, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy and Leadership
  • In collaboration with platform leadership, build and own the marketing strategy for Provident Data Centers, tied directly to business, pipeline, and leasing goals.
  • Stand up the marketing function: priorities, processes, budget, vendors and agencies, and eventually team structure.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the Managing Partner and leadership team, bringing informed perspectives on positioning, brand, and go-to-market strategy, challenging assumptions constructively, and influencing key decisions.
  • Select, implement, and manage the marketing technology stack, including CRM, marketing automation, the website and CMS, and analytics.
  • Establish KPIs and metrics to measure the effectiveness of marketing and communications activities, reporting regularly to executive leadership.
  • Put AI tools to practical use across research, content, and campaign execution, and set sensible guidelines for how marketing uses them.
Partnership Across the Business
  • Work closely with development, acquisitions, power, and capital teams to pull the information marketing needs.
  • Present confidently to executives, partners, and external audiences, and translate complex projects into clear, compelling stories.
Marketing Execution
  • Strengthen and elevate the platform's brand, ensuring consistency across every channel, deck, and touchpoint.
  • Lead social media strategy and execution, including executive and thought-leadership presence.
  • Plan and run event marketing, from industry conferences and trade shows to hosted events and site tours.
  • Partner with the teams on targeted, account-based outreach to hyperscale, cloud, and enterprise prospects, and build lead-nurturing programs that keep those relationships moving.
  • Develop marketing campaigns for individual sites and campuses that support leasing results.
  • Develop marketing collateral, pitch materials, and presentations.
Thought Leadership and Positioning
  • Define how Provident Data Centers is positioned for each of its core audiences, including hyperscale and enterprise customers, capital partners, utilities, communities, and local governments, and keep the messaging consistent across all of them.
  • Translate complex technical topics such as power availability, site readiness, cooling, and delivery timelines into clear, differentiated value for customers and other audiences.
  • Position Provident Data Centers as a credible, informed voice on data center development, including power, AI-driven demand, and how projects get delivered.
  • Build a content program that includes articles, case studies, speaking opportunities, and executive bylines.
  • Shape how Provident Data Centers communicates our sustainability and energy commitments to customers, capital partners, and the communities where we build.
Communications and PR
  • Shape the platform's public narrative and manage media relations, working with outside PR partners as needed.
  • Support community and stakeholder communications for projects in active markets.
  • Prepare messaging and spokesperson support for sensitive or high-visibility moments.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive marketing experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Significant B2B marketing experience is required, with a strong preference for technology or technical infrastructure such as data centers, cloud, telecom, or energy.
  • A proven record of building a marketing function from the ground up or transforming an existing one.
  • Hands-on depth across social media, event marketing, lead nurturing, and brand management.
  • Hands-on experience with CRM and marketing automation platforms, along with website/CMS, SEO and paid search, social, and analytics tools.
  • Practical, current experience using AI tools in marketing work, and good judgment about where they help and where they don't.
  • A data-driven approach to marketing, with experience using analytics to guide strategy and show ROI.
  • A demonstrated ability to take complex technical concepts and turn them into compelling, differentiated value propositions for customers, partners, and non-technical audiences.
  • Executive presence and a track record of operating as a strategic partner to senior leadership, with examples of shaping and influencing decisions, not only executing them.
  • Public relations or media relations experience, especially around complex or high-profile projects, a plus.
  • Direct experience in data centers, digital infrastructure, energy, or real estate development a plus.
  • Experience with community or stakeholder engagement a plus.

Skills & Competencies:
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to executive leadership and external partners.
  • Independent judgment and the confidence to bring a point of view, respectfully challenge assumptions, and push for the right answer, even with senior leaders.
  • Driven to succeed in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and partnering skills, able to build trust with internal teams, customers, and external partners.
  • A self-starter mindset. You don't need hand-holding, and you're comfortable making decisions with incomplete information.
  • The ability to think big-picture while still rolling up your sleeves to get things done.
  • Resourcefulness and persistence in getting what you need from busy, deal-focused teams.
  • Ability to work effectively with a geographically distributed team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment in setting priorities and evaluating agencies, vendors, and partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
