Your mission

Pierre Fabre Japon : Marketing Manager/Director

Job Description

Own end to end brand strategy and execution in Japan, translating global direction into local growth across consumer, digital, retail/EC, and P&L performance.

Act as a change agent, bringing an external perspective to drive an objective- and KPI-driven marketing mix, while nurturing and strengthening the unique culture of Pierre Fabre Japon

Key Responsibilities

1) Brand Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop and lead short- to mid-term brand strategies to enhance brand equity, sales, and market share.
  • Build and execute annual marketing plans, including A&P budgets, new launches, 360° campaigns, and brand activations.
  • Analyze the competitive landscape and translate consumer and market insights into concrete growth opportunities.

2) Product & Launch Management

  • Lead and develop the brand portfolio strategy and manage the full product life cycle, including hero SKU development and acceleration, renovation, and discontinuation.
  • Develop category, hero product, and new product strategies for Japan with clear objectives and 360° marketing plans, in close alignment and collaboration with APAC and Global HQ.
  • Lead end-to-end new product launches, including launch planning, demand forecasting, pricing, and promotional strategies.
  • Support online and offline sales teams by driving in-store activities and executions to maximize sell-out.

3) Consumer & Market Insight

  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, consumer behavior, and segmentation to identify key business drivers.
  • Identify whitespace, category gaps, and innovation opportunities to fuel sustainable brand growth.
  • Optimize marketing strategies through a data-driven approach, leveraging sell-out data, CRM, digital, and e-commerce KPIs)

4) Integrated Marketing Campaign (360 marketing, Omni-channel roll out)

  • Define and validate media strategies across digital, online, and offline channels to maximize reach and ROI.
  • Develop and execute integrated campaigns across digital (SNS, paid media, KOLs/influencers), e-commerce, and retail/in-store touchpoints.
  • Ensure full alignment with global communication strategy while driving locally relevant activations tailored to Japanese consumers.

5) Digital/ECOM Acceleration

  • Own and optimize the end-to-end consumer journey from awareness to conversion to loyalty through various digital and e-commerce initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Shiseido team and drive EC platforms (Amazon, Rakuten, etc) to deliver growth.
  • Manage owned media (website, SNS, and content) as well as paid media and performance marketing with clear KPIs, ensuring delivery of targets.
  • Develop CRM strategy and drive data activation to enhance engagement, personalization, and lifetime value.

5) Budget & P&L Ownership

  • Own the brand P&L and A&P budget, ensuring alignment with short- to mid-term business objectives and contributing to topline growth and sustainable profitability.
  • Plan, allocate, and manage A&P investments across channels, continuously optimizing spend based on ROI/ROAS, brand equity impact, and strategic priorities.
  • Partner with Finance and Sales to build robust forecasts (sales, margin, A&P), track performance versus plan, and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Drive rigorous financial discipline in marketing decision-making, leveraging data and scenario planning to prioritize high-impact initiatives.
  • Monitor key financial and performance indicators (net sales, gross margin, ATL/BTL efficiency, customer acquisition cost, LTV, etc.) and provide regular reporting and insights to senior management.

6) Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead, manage, and mentor the brand marketing team (Product, Digital, E-commerce, and VMD), providing clear vision, priorities, and guidance.
  • Develop team capabilities through coaching, feedback, and talent development, fostering a high-performance, consumer-centric, and collaborative culture.
  • Act as a key counterpart to Global/Regional marketing leadership, ensuring strong alignment on strategy, launches, and brand positioning while effectively localizing for Japan.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Sales, Trade Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Medical, etc.) to deliver integrated, “one team” execution.
  • Coordinate and steer the Shiseido Sales team to ensure field excellence, best-in-class in-store execution, and consistent brand visibility and advocacy at point of sale.
  • Influence and manage key internal and external stakeholders, building strong relationships and securing buy-in for strategic initiatives and resource allocation

Profile must-have experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Product/Brand Marketing and/or Brand Management within a global organization, ideally in consumer/beauty or FMCG.
  • Proven experience in data analysis to support data-driven decision-making, KPI definition, and performance tracking.
  • Hands-on experience in A&P budget management, including KPI setting, monitoring, and achievement/optimization.
  • Strong digital marketing leadership experience, including e-commerce business ownership/leadership (traffic, conversion, CRM, performance marketing, etc.).
  • Primary experience in mass marketing to drive scale, reach, and consumer engagement across multiple channels (on/offline).
  • CRM expertise, including segmentation/targeting, CLTV (Customer Lifetime Value) design, and personalized communication/activation.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken; able to communicate effectively with global and regional stakeholders.
