About the role:
The Manager, Insurance Product Market Research will support research initiatives focused on understanding market trends, consumer behaviors, competitive positioning, and healthcare product performance across the segments we serve. You will help create relevant cross-functional insights that support product strategy, portfolio decisions, and market-level business planning. You combine strong analytical capabilities with curiosity, storytelling, and the ability to translate research into meaningful business insights.
You will report into the Vice President, Insurance Product Innovation and Development.
Work Location: This is a remote / work-from-home role. You must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, or Virginia. Note, this list of states is subject to change.
Pay Transparency: The base pay for this role in the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington is: $123,372- $161,925 per year. The base pay for this role in all other locations is:: $111,034- $145,733 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program company equity grants and annual performance bonuses.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct primary and secondary market research to support insurance product strategy and market-level decision-making
- Analyze healthcare market trends, consumer behaviors, competitor activity, and product performance
- Develop market research summaries, dashboards, presentations, and strategic insights for company partners
- Support competitive intelligence through data gathering and analysis
- Help develop market analyses, consumer segmentation, and opportunity assessments
- Partner with team members to support research requests and strategic programs
- Compile and maintain market intelligence databases, reports, and recurring deliverables
- Translate complex data into concise, relevant insights for business audiences
- Support qualitative and quantitative research projects, including surveys, interviews, and market assessments
- Contribute to continuous improvement of research methodologies and reporting processes
- Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, economics, healthcare administration, public health, or related field
- 4+ years of experience in market analytics, competitive intelligence, healthcare strategy, or related field
- Willingness to summarize information into clear business recommendations
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
Bonus points:
- Experience in healthcare, health insurance, or marketing environments
- Familiarity with ACA and QHP markets, including healthcare industry trends
- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- Analytical experience with the skills to translate hard data into insight and action
- Proficiency with Excel and SQL required to manipulate and analyze data, (R, and/or Python beneficial)
- Willingness to guide to outcomes, work with large datasets and distill analyses into relevant business insights with a structured and systematic thought process
- Experience working cross-functionally within large matrixed organizations

Pay Transparency: Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, and experience.
