Okta is seeking a highly proficient GEO Content Specialist to execute content-focused Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) strategies for Okta and Auth0. This is a mid-level individual contributor role focused on ensuring content is optimized for visibility and retrieval in the evolving landscape of AI Search/GEO/AEO. The ideal candidate is a reliable self-starter with a strong understanding of content, SEO, and the mechanisms of Large Language Models (LLMs).
Core Responsibilities & Execution:
- Content Optimization:
- Execute the strategy for structuring and optimizing content to promote content retrievability by LLMs.
- Develop and refine content blocks to be machine-parsable and aligned with semantic density and emerging AI answer formats.
- Understand how content must be structured (schema.org and JSON-LD) for LLM visibility and apply best practices while adhering to brand and quality standards.
- Identify opportunities by reviewing GEO prompt data, analyzing competitors, and thinking creatively about content needs for the business.
- GEO Knowledge & Application:
- Maintain a working knowledge of how LLMs function, relevant KPIs, and content-related GEO best practices.
- Apply concepts such as vector embeddings, RAG, grounding, chunks, passages, and citations in daily content work.
- Stay current on industry changes related to GEO/AEO/AIO and the future of organic visibility.
- Data & Workflow:
- Utilize a data-driven approach to execute content tasks and identify content performance trends.
- Collaborate with Customer First teams to ensure optimized content is published effectively.
- Manage assigned content tasks effectively, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
- Leverage AI in content analysis, editing and production workstreams to improve efficiency and output.
- Track and analyze SEO and GEO key performance metrics for Customer First subdomains, providing insights and recommendations to stakeholders for optimization.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of professional experience in SEO, and content strategy, with a focus on content optimization and/or content development.
- Understands how content is rewarded in both LLMs and modern-day search ranking algorithms (this position is not about traditional SEO keyword optimization).
- Familiarity with current GEO concepts and the role of LLMs in search.
- Working knowledge of multiple SEO platforms such as STAT, SEMRush, Lumar/DeepCrawl, Looker Studio, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Profound, and similar platforms.
- Proficiency in data analysis and insights gathering for content output and performance tracking.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate content requirements and results clearly.
- Experience using HTML, Salesforce Experience Builder, or similar enterprise-level systems.
- Background in the post-Sales roles and Identity and Access Management (IAM), B2B marketing, SAAS, or the cybersecurity domain is preferred, but not required.
