The SolidWorks Graphic Designer creates and modifies visually compelling SolidWorks 3D models to communicate procedural messages effectively, maintain brand consistency, and engage target audiences. This individual supports engineering change management, product design updates, and technical documentation for Industrial Coating Solutions. This role is responsible for maintaining and modifying SolidWorks models and drawings, assisting production with engineering-related concerns, and supporting product enhancements, technical publications, and cross-functional visualization needs. The position requires strong SolidWorks experience, attention to visual detail and design principals, project management skills, and design aesthetic.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to assist with 3D modeling in SolidWorks, technical writing, graphic design, commercial modeling, technical publications, and marketing.
- Incorporate 3D model renderings into procedural and customer-facing documentation.
- Provides SolidWorks models maintenance and engineering changes in support of commercial, quality, technical publications, marketing communications, and manufacturing.
- Leads and manages the execution of small projects centered on engineering change management.·
- Assist production with standard product engineering related concerns.·
- Develop/modify 3D models & drawings for designs & changes.·
- Design/modify parts and equipment based on engineering change order requirements.·
- Formats and supports technical manual imaging, updates, and small projects.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related duties as needed.
Education and Experience Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field; equivalent education and relevant work experience may be considered.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience using SolidWorks in a product design, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
- Experience with SolidWorks modeling required
- Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Cinema 4D, SolidWorks Composure, SolidWorks Visualize, and graphic design preferred
- Experience supporting product design, product enhancements, and engineering change processes·
- Excellent project management skills·
- Ability to work effectively on multiple projects and activities in a fast paced environment·
- Excellent organizational and communication skills·
- Highly motivated self-starter who can work with minimal supervision·
- Detail oriented with strong analytical abilities
- Experience with SAP data strongly preferred
