Title: Social Media Coordinator, Community Management (PF1)

The Role: New York Life is seeking a Social Media Coordinator to join its Experience & Digital Marketing team and help support the day-to-day execution of New York Life's organic social media program. This role will operate as a generalist, supporting social listening, community management, content creation, publishing, reporting, and requests across core corporate brand channels and enterprise partners.

We're looking for someone who is a strong writer, highly organized, comfortable capturing short-form video, and able to coordinate across multiple stakeholders. You're detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and skilled at translating conversations and data into insights, with a genuine curiosity about how AI-powered search and discovery are changing how audiences find and engage with brands.

Social listening and community management are this role's primary focus, helping turn conversations into insights that inform content and strategy. You'll also assist with social content production as needed.

This position reports to the Social Media Lead and works with stakeholders across the enterprise, agency partners, and platform teams. You'll collaborate closely with teams including Corporate Communications, Human Resources, Legal, Strategy, SEO, Paid Media, Service, and Sponsorships, among others.

Key Responsibilities:

· Support day-to-day social listening and community managment across New York Life's corporate social channels, monitoring comments, mentions, conversations, trends, sentiment, and competitive activity.

· Help respond to community activity and escalate sensitve or non-routine reputation issues according to established guidelines.

· Compile listening insights and translate them into content recommendations and brand strategy input, and support sharing social intelligence beyond the social team.

· Help maintain listening tools, queries, and dashboards.

· Draft, proofread, and produce organic social copy, static content, and short-form, platform-native video for core brand and enterprise initiatives.

· Support the social media content calendar and publishing cadence, helping ensure content is accurate, approved, accessible, compliant, and published on time.

· Coordinate requests from teams across the enterprise, including intake, content development, approvals, publishing, and Workfront tracking.

· Support monthly social media reporting, content tagging, performance tracking, and sharing of actionable insights.

· Help track how AI-driven search and discovery tools surface conversations about New York Life, and flag emerging shifts in audience behavior for brand strategy.

Qualifications:

· 0 to 3 years of relevant experience in social media, community management, content creation, digital marketing, project coordination, or communications. Internships, co-ops, and other applicable experience may be considered.

· Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

· Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to translate conversations and data into clear insights.

· Experience with social listening, community management, and reputation monitoring.

· Strong interest in content creation.

· Strong understanding of major social platforms, trends, and audience behaviors.

· Comfortable capturing short-form video and working with people on camera.

· Familiarity with social listening, analytics, publishing, content calendars, and project management platforms such as Workfront.

· Curiosity about AI-driven content discovery and its implications for brands.

· A portfolio or work samples that demonstrate experience in social content, writing, or video.

· Calm and level-headed under pressure, especially when triaging potential reputation issues.

· A collaborative, team-first mindset and willingness to share ownership across the full social media program.

· Proactive and dependable, with sound judgment when escalating sensitive issues and flagging questions or barriers early.

· Open to coaching, feedback, and learning new tools and processes.

Knowledge of financial services or insurance is a plus.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range: $51,500-$60,000

Overtime eligible: Nonexempt

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes

Sales bonus eligible: No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
