Who this fits
You’ll suit a hands-on builder-operator role if you can explain complex enterprise software, accounting processes, and AI in direct, credible language. The work is centered on controllers and senior accounting leaders, with a high bar for customer empathy, judgment, and execution. The role is onsite in San Mateo, United States.
From the employer
Maxima is the agentic system of work for enterprise accounting, purpose-built to deliver audit-ready, continuous close. Our founders have experience coming from both sides of the problem: from overseeing the finance org at Rubrik, to building month-end close systems at companies like Twitter and Netflix.
We raised our $41M seed + series A funding, from top tier investors like Redpoint Ventures and Kleiner Perkins, are backed by finance leaders at companies such as Rippling, OpenAI, and Ramp, and was recognized as a best place to work by SF Business Times and Silicon Valley Journal.
The Role
We are hiring a Product Marketing Manager to own positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategy across Maxima's product platform: five products, along with our growing integration ecosystem. This is a hands-on, builder-operator role.
You will work closely with product, engineering, founders, customers, and marketing to translate complex accounting workflows and AI capabilities into clear, differentiated narratives that build trust with enterprise buyers. You will lead go-to-market for new features and products as they ship, and run a continuous research practice to understand how different customers use Maxima to solve specific pain points, and where they find real value in the platform.
Our audience is controllers and senior accounting leaders at mid-market and enterprise companies. They are pressed for time, allergic to hype, and responsible for some of the highest-stakes workflows in the business. Every piece of positioning and every launch should reflect that.

Partner with Sales and Customer Success to gather win/loss insight, objections, and real usage patterns that inform product marketing strategy
Build and maintain competitive positioning
Partner with demand generation to ensure positioning and launch narratives show up consistently across campaigns and content

Why this role matters
Enterprise accounting is entering its biggest platform shift in decades. Legacy software helped teams coordinate the work. Maxima automates the preparation work that makes closing hard in the first place.
As the platform grows to encompass more products and features, how we position each piece, how we launch what's next, and how well we understand what customers actually do with the product will define whether the market sees Maxima as a point solution or the system of work for enterprise account. This role sits at the center of that.
