Lead the Chinese Locale Campaign Operation function for the Makro PRO platform by owning operational delivery, localization quality, and final approval of all Chinese campaign content and artwork across Web & App. The role serves as the overall owner of Chinese campaign operations, ensuring language accuracy, localization quality, operational readiness, and successful campaign delivery. During the team build-up phase, the Section Manager operates as a player-coach, leading hands-on translation, campaign setup, artwork QA, stakeholder management, and team development while establishing SOPs, quality standards, and scalable operational processes.
1. Operational Leadership & Delivery
- Own Chinese Locale for the in-app campaign operations, ensuring accurate, on-time, first-time-right go-live across Web & App.
- Set operational priorities, allocate work, and manage the Chinese Locale queue and team capacity during peak campaign periods.
- Act as the escalation point for Chinese Locale operational and content issues.
- In the initial phase, work hands-on as a player-coach on translation and campaign set-up.
2. Language Quality, Artwork QA & Final Sign-off
- Perform final QA sign-off for all Chinese campaign content and artwork (AW) before go-live, ensuring language accuracy, campaign correctness, typography, layout consistency, and brand compliance.
- Review translated artwork (AW) for wording, tone of voice, line breaking, character spacing, text overflow, and overall visual presentation.
- Define and maintain Chinese content standards, localization glossary, typography guidelines, and tone of voice.
- Provide final approval for all Chinese-localized campaign content and artwork prior to release.
- Coordinate with the Artwork Localization team member, Graphic Designer team, and related stakeholders to ensure consistent localization quality.
3. Process, Quality & Performance Management
- Define, standardize, and continuously improve SOPs and quality-control frameworks for Chinese Locale set-up and content operations.
- Track team KPIs - accuracy, on-time delivery, turnaround time, and issue resolution.
- Identify operational gaps and localization / platform limitations; drive tool and workflow improvements with cross-functional partners.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Build, manage, and develop the Chinese Locale set-up team; coach on skills, ownership, and career growth.
- Manage capacity, allocation, hiring, and onboarding for the pod.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
5. Stakeholder, Cross-functional & Tech Support
- Partner with Commercial, Campaign, 3P, Partnership, Trade Marketing, Content, Design, and Regional teams to align requirements, timelines, and execution plans.
- Serve as the Chinese Locale point of contact with Tech / UX on localization support and enhancement requests.
- Act as the senior subject-matter authority for CMS and campaign logic within the Chinese Locale scope.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chinese, Chinese Literature, E-commerce, Marketing, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Native Chinese or HSK 6 (or equivalent near-native proficiency) able to read, write, and QA Chinese campaign content to a professional and native standard (primary requirement).
- Professional or business English (verbal and written) able to communicate confidently with Tech, cross-functional teams, and upper management. Not conversational-only.
- Minimum 4-5 years in Campaign Operations, E-commerce, or content / localization, including team-lead or senior individual-contributor experience.
- Proven ownership of quality / QA sign-off, with the ability to review others' work.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and strong command of CMS / campaign set-up tools across Web & App.
- Flexibility to work late hours and operate on a shift-based schedule during key campaign periods.
