At LinkedIn, our Global Sales Compensation Reporting & Insights team delivers trusted reporting, analytics, and business insights that enable effective compensation programs and data-driven decision making. We partner closely with Sales Compensation, Sales Operations, HR, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, and business leaders to provide analytical insights that support compensation design, financial management, business performance, and executive decision-making.

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst, Global Sales Compensation Reporting & Insights to provide analytical and decision support across sales compensation design, incentive effectiveness, commissions financial analysis, and business performance. This role will combine analytical modeling with sales compensation and financial expertise to evaluate complex business questions and translate data into actionable insights and recommendations.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver sales compensation design analytics, including what-if scenarios, cost modeling, and analysis of plan mechanics, accelerators, pay-for-performance relationships, and policy changes to inform recommendations and decision-making.
  • Analyze sales compensation, performance, and incentive trends to identify key cost and performance drivers, evaluate incentive effectiveness, and translate findings into actionable insights utilizing Excel, SQL, and business intelligence tools
  • Support monthly financial close and commission analysis, including accrual analysis, accrual-to-actual reviews, commissions bridge analysis, earned commission trends, and related Finance and Accounting needs.
  • Develop executive-ready insights, dashboards, recurring business reporting, and ad hoc analyses for Sales leaders and cross-functional partners.
  • Partner with Sales Compensation, Sales Operations, HR, Finance, Accounting, and other cross functional teams to translate complex or ambiguous business questions into structured analyses and clear decision support.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in sales compensation, finance, sales operations, business analytics, or a related analytical function.
  • 3+ years of experience performing financial, business, or compensation analysis using advanced Excel modeling or similar analytical tools.
  • 3+ years of experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver analytical insights and decision support.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience analyzing complex datasets and translating findings into business insights and recommendations.
  • Experience performing sales compensation design analysis, including plan mechanics, incentive curves, accelerators, crediting, policy changes, and scenario modeling.
  • Experience analyzing incentive effectiveness, pay-for-performance relationships, attainment distributions, or other sales compensation and performance measures.
  • Working knowledge of sales commissions finance and accounting concepts, including commission accruals, deferred commissions, ASC 606 / IFRS 15, and accrual-to-actual reconciliation.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, including experience developing what-if scenarios, sensitivity analyses, and cost models.
  • Experience with SQL and business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to structure ambiguous business questions, develop analytical approaches, evaluate alternatives, and translate findings into clear recommendations.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex analysis to Finance, Accounting, HR, Sales Operations, Sales, and senior leadership audiences.
  • Attention to detail and demonstrated experience working with highly confidential compensation, financial, or employee-level data.
  • Ability to manage recurring financial and reporting deliverables while balancing multiple project-based analytical priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Ownership and ability to independently drive analysis from initial business question through validation, insights, and decision support.

The pay range for this role is $101,000 to $164,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
