About the Role
As an Account Manager, you will drive growth across Kpler’s existing Financial Services clients in EMEA. You will own a portfolio of accounts, act as the commercial partner clients rely on, and take upsell and cross-sell opportunities through to close, deepening how clients use our commodity and maritime intelligence.
This is an account management role with real commercial ownership: you won’t just manage relationships, you’ll identify, negotiate and close growth within them. You will work closely with Sales, Product, Market Analysts and Customer Success, and your insight into what clients need will directly shape our strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Own Your Account Portfolio: Manage a portfolio of Financial Services accounts, responding to client requests promptly and thoroughly, and meeting or exceeding annual sales growth targets.
- Own the Expansion Sales Cycle: Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within your accounts and take them through the full sales cycle, from discovery and proposal to negotiation and close.
- Be a Commercial Partner: Support clients with budgeting, multi-year planning, demand planning, reporting and key metrics, helping them get the most from their investment in Kpler.
- Negotiate & Close: Negotiate contracts and terms to secure profitable agreements, in line with company policy.
- Gather Market Insight: Collect feedback on our products and competitors directly from clients and feed it back to Product and leadership to inform strategy.
- Forecast & Maintain the CRM: Keep CRM notes and updates accurate, and work with the Sales team to maintain achievable forecasts.
- Collaborate Across the Business: Support cross-functional teams, share expertise, and contribute to company-wide projects and initiatives.
- Represent Kpler: Act as a professional, credible face of the company with clients and externally, including travel as needed.
What we are looking for
- Commercial Experience: 3+ years in a commercial role, including account management or sales, within technology, SaaS, or data/analytics environments, with exposure to the full sales cycle from opportunity identification through to close.
- EMEA Market Experience: Experience managing or selling to clients across EMEA, with an understanding of how buying behaviour, procurement and regulation vary between markets.
- Multilingual Skills: Fluency in additional European languages, particularly French, is a strong plus
- Communication & Negotiation: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, plus strong negotiation ability.
- Drive & Mindset: A proactive, commercial mindset, high self-motivation, and the discipline to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Team Orientation: A collaborative approach focused on long-term success for the client, the team and the business.
Nice-to-haves:
- Financial Markets Knowledge: Experience in or familiarity with financial markets.
- Commodities Knowledge: Understanding of commodities markets and trends.
- Maritime Exposure: Experience in the maritime space.
- Tech Stack: Hands-on experience with tools such as Salesforce, ZoomInfo, Outreach and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
