Who this fits
This role suits a hands-on performance marketer who wants to launch campaigns and creative personally rather than manage people or set overall strategy. You'll be measured on commercial metrics, expected to test frequently, challenge assumptions constructively, and adapt to detailed feedback. The role is full-time, remote, and requires UK-based work with some US-hours overlap when commercial or supplier meetings call for it. You work as an independent contractor and must make it your primary role.

Autism Parenting Magazine is a publishing company supporting parents of autistic children with practical, expert-backed strategies they can use right away. We publish a monthly magazine, run our biannual Autism Parenting Summits, and operate a video-based membership subscription.
APM thrives in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. Our global, remote-first team spans the UK, USA, Philippines, South Africa, and Eastern Europe and is growing rapidly.
We use EOS to keep alignment and accountability, meet weekly, and use Hubstaff for time tracking.
We spend around $1 million a year on paid advertising, predominantly on Meta, with Google, Pinterest and Bing alongside it. That spend is the growth engine of the business, and right now our founder is running it himself. We need someone to take the execution off his hands.
This is a hands-on execution role, not a leadership one. You will not manage a team and you will not be asked to invent our marketing strategy from scratch.
Mark has been doing performance marketing for over 16 years and has a growth playbook that works in this niche, built around the Customer Value Journey, where we earn awareness and trust before we ask for the sale. Your job is to take that strategy and run it brilliantly, at pace, with real accountability for the numbers. Over time, as you learn the niche, you'll take increasing ownership and there's a genuine path to growing into the strategist seat. But that's earned over 12 months, not granted on day one.
What you'll be doing
π Paid Media & Growth: Meta will be your primary channel, so you should already be strong at building, managing and optimising campaigns at scale. Youβll also help expand into Google Search, Performance Max and Demand Gen, with future testing across channels such as TikTok and AppLovin.
π Analytics & Attribution:Use Meta Ads Manager, GA4 and Hyros to understand campaign and funnel performance. Compare data across platforms, spot tracking or attribution issues, and make decisions based on the best available evidence rather than blindly trusting one source.
βοΈ Copywriting & Email Marketing: Write Meta ads, headlines, hooks, UGC scripts, landing-page copy and marketing emails. This may include promotional emails, nurture sequences, launch emails and follow-up campaigns.
π¨ Creative Production: Personally create and finalise static and video ads, including variations, UGC scripts and briefs, footage selection, editing, captions and overlays. Use tools such as Canva, ChatGPT, CapCut and other AI/creative tools to move quickly from concept to launch-ready creative.
π― Landing Pages & Funnels: Help improve lead-generation and sales pages, with a focus on message match and conversion rate optimisation.
π SEO, Organic Social, Affiliate, & Offline Growth: Improve lead generation and subscription sales through development of our SEO, organic social, affiliate, and offline marketing efforts.
This is a full-time role, UK-based, with some overlap with US hours when needed for commercial or supplier meetings.
Requirements
β 3β5 years of hands-on paid advertising experience
β Strong practical Meta Ads experience β this is the non-negotiable one
β Experience managing meaningful monthly budgets (we'd love to see $50k+/month, but we care more about how you thought about the money than the size of it)
β Solid grasp of CAC, ROAS, CTR, CPC, LTV and conversion rate, and comfort being measured on them
β Comfortable in Meta Ads Manager and GA4, and able to spot patterns and when tracking or attribution data looks wrong and investigate
β Experience with Hyros or another attribution platform is highly desirable
β Strong written English and comfort writing direct-response advertising and email copy
β Good creative instincts and real curiosity about why one ad beats another
β Experience marketing in a compliance-sensitive niche health, medical, supplements, finance or similar is a significant advantage
β High attention to detail and strong self-QA: you check the landing page is live before you turn the spend on
β Coachable. You can take direction, ask good questions, disagree well, and then commit
β Experience with subscription or membership businesses, digital products, launches or events, email platforms, UGC, video editing, Canva and CRO is a bonus.
A note on how we market
We're marketing to overwhelmed parents in a sensitive niche, and words matter enormously both ethically and practically. There are specific ways of phrasing things that keep us compliant with Meta, and getting this wrong can get our ad account banned. We have zero tolerance for carelessness here. If you've worked somewhere the platform rules genuinely bite, you'll know exactly what we mean.
You're a great fit ifβ¦
β¨ You're strong on Meta and want to become a more rounded direct-response marketer
β¨ You enjoy the numbers and want to be accountable for commercial results
β¨ You like running frequent tests and turning results into the next round of decisions
β¨ You'd rather produce and launch things yourself than manage other people
β¨ You're confident enough to bring ideas and challenge assumptions, and humble enough to accept that a business 16 years into its niche might already know some things you don't
β¨ Your definition of "done" is work that sells, not work that was submitted by the deadline
β¨ You take ownership rather than waiting for someone else to spot the problem
This role is NOT for you ifβ¦
β You want to be the strategist, or you want complete ownership of marketing direction
β You mainly want to manage other marketers
β You're primarily a brand marketer, or you prefer reach and engagement over revenue, CAC and ROAS
β You accept the numbers Meta shows you without ever questioning attribution or tracking quality
β You arrive with a fixed playbook from your last job and expect it to work here without adaptation
β You only want to work inside Ads Manager and expect other people to handle copy, creative, email and landing pages
β You dislike detailed feedback or get defensive when your ideas are questioned
β You prefer discussing strategy to launching and improving campaigns
β You need someone to keep telling you what to do next
Learning & development
We don't expect you to know everything. Mark will coach you directly on the playbook and the niche.
Be warned that this niche takes time. Most people need around six months to really get it. We're interested in someone hungry to learn and stick with it, not someone who believes they already have the answers.
