What you’ll own
You will own strategic direction across three connected areas:
Brand communications: Brand narrative, PR messaging, executive communications, corporate storytelling and reputation
Content Marketing: Editorial strategy, thought leadership, campaign narratives, hero content, customer stories, reports and blog direction
Social & Brand Presence: Social strategy, executive social, employee advocacy, brand consistency and agency direction
What you’ll do
Lead narrative strategy and brand storytelling
Shape the strategic narrative that defines how Ignition shows up in market.
Translate business priorities into clear, compelling external stories.
Maintain consistency of brand voice, tone and messaging across content, PR and social.
Identify opportunities to strengthen Ignition’s thought leadership and category relevance.
Support executive communications and thought leadership with clear messaging, strong editorial judgment and brand alignment.
Own editorial strategy and content direction
Lead the global content strategy across thought leadership, campaigns, reports, blogs, customer stories, webinars and other high-impact content.
Develop strategic briefs, angles and editorial direction for agency and freelancer execution.
Oversee hero content such as benchmark reports, guides, playbooks, customer stories and campaign assets.
Ensure content supports both brand-building and demand-generation priorities.
Review and approve externally facing content for quality, audience relevance, brand fit and strategic alignment.
Identify narrative gaps, content opportunities and ways to improve market resonance.
Ensure product messaging accuracy and content integrity
Review product-related messaging for accuracy, clarity and credibility.
Partner with Product Marketing to validate positioning, claims and launch messaging.
Ensure content truthfully represents the product, customer experience and market context.
Review research, benchmark reports and data-driven content to ensure the narrative is accurate, credible and strategically valuable.
Coach agencies, freelancers and internal partners on product nuance, customer pain points and messaging accuracy.
Lead social and brand presence
Own the strategic direction for Ignition’s global social presence.
Guide agency partners on social storytelling, channel priorities and creative direction.
Oversee executive social and employee advocacy initiatives.
Ensure social content reflects Ignition’s tone, brand voice and market position.
Use performance insights to evolve social strategy and improve audience engagement.
Orchestrate agencies, freelancers and AI-enabled workflows
Direct agency and freelancer work across content, social and communications priorities.
Set clear priorities, briefs, feedback and quality standards for external partners.
Ensure AI-enabled workflows are used effectively without compromising accuracy, originality or brand integrity.
Review AI-generated content with a strong human lens for brand fit, product truth, audience value and strategic alignment.
Identify which work should be handled by agencies, AI workflows, internal teams or the role owner.
Maintain strong feedback loops so agency and AI-enabled output continues to improve over time.
Drive cross-functional alignment and prioritization
Partner closely with Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Design, Customer Marketing, Product and Sales.
Prioritize competing requests across campaigns, regions and stakeholders.
Ensure campaign narratives are connected across channels and teams.
Keep agencies and contributors aligned with business context, messaging priorities and launch timelines.
Help teams understand how brand, content and social activity connect to broader company goals.
Measure impact and improve performance
Use content, social and campaign performance data to inform strategy.
Translate insights into practical recommendations for improving content quality, distribution and business impact.
Partner with Marketing Operations, Demand Generation and agency partners on reporting frameworks.
Evaluate success across market resonance, content reuse, engagement, pipeline influence and strategic business impact.
What we’re looking for
You are a content marketer at the core, with the judgment and range to operate across brand, communications and social.
You should bring:
Strong editorial judgment and storytelling instincts
Experience building content strategies that support brand, demand and customer education
Ability to shape narratives, develop briefs and guide content from idea through launch
Strong understanding of brand voice, messaging and product positioning
Experience managing agencies, freelancers or external partners
Comfort reviewing and improving AI-generated content
Ability to prioritize competing requests across stakeholders, teams and regions
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
Confidence balancing creative quality with business outcomes
A pragmatic, hands-on mindset when needed, without losing sight of strategic priorities
Experience
8+ years of experience in content marketing, editorial strategy, brand communications or integrated marketing
Experience in B2B SaaS, technology, fintech, accounting, professional services or a related industry preferred
Proven ability to develop and execute content strategies across multiple channels and formats
Experience managing agency or freelancer relationships
Strong writing, editing and communication skills
Experience working with Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Design, Sales, Product and Customer Marketing teams
Strong experience with AI-enabled marketing or content workflows
Ability to interpret performance data and translate insights into action

Compensation Information:
Our salary bands are designed to reflect the range of skills and experience needed for the position and to allow room for growth. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on state/location, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
This role has a minimum annual base of USD $155,000 and a maximum USD $165,000 in the Unites Stated / CAD $140,000 and maximum annual salary of CAD $155,000 in Canada.
