Job Overview

The Technical Marketing Specialist plays a key role in supporting the growth and success of Hubbell's product portfolio by combining market insight, product knowledge, customer engagement, and data-driven decision making. This position works closely with Sales, Operations, Engineering, Customer Service, and Product Management to identify market opportunities, support new product initiatives, analyze business performance, and develop tools and resources that help drive customer success.

Our ideal candidate is analytical, commercially minded, and comfortable working with technical products and customer applications. While an engineering degree is not required, the ability to understand technical specifications, product drawings, and customer requirements is important to success in this role.

A Day In The Life

Every day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by:

  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, competitive activity, and portfolio performance to identify growth opportunities and support business strategy.
  • Support the development and execution of marketing plans, product launches, and strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with Product Management to develop product roadmaps, evaluate portfolio opportunities, and support lifecycle management activities.
  • Assist with Voice of Customer (VOC) initiatives, market research, and new product development projects.
  • Evaluate customer applications, requests for quotation (RFQs), and product requirements to recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Customer Service teams to resolve customer issues and support commercial objectives.
  • Develop and maintain sales tools, product documentation, presentations, and marketing collateral.
  • Monitor pricing trends, competitive positioning, and market dynamics to support profitable growth.
  • Support forecasting, inventory optimization, and business planning activities through data analysis and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Read and interpret technical specifications, drawings, and industry standards to support customer and product-related activities.
  • Participate in customer visits, trade shows, industry events, and training activities to strengthen relationships and gather market intelligence.
  • Prepare reports, analyses, and presentations that support strategic and operational decision making

  • Experience in utility, electrical, or grid infrastructure markets is preferred, including an understanding of electric utility markets, transmission and distribution systems, grid technologies, customer applications, and utility customer requirements.

  • Ability to work effectively across multiple functions and influence outcomes through collaboration.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools.
  • Experience developing reports and dashboards using Power BI and performing data analysis through SQL queries is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Understanding of pricing, profitability, and business performance metrics.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in product marketing, product management, technical sales, engineering support, or a related business function.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.
