Key Accountabilities
- Develop and execute the annual North America Groups & MICE sales strategy, action plans, and budget, aligned with the Group's commercial objectives and hotel revenue targets.
- Generate qualified group rooms, catering, and event revenue across The Peninsula Hotels and Quail Lodge, focusing on meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions, corporate, leisure, social, and entertainment groups.
- Identify, develop, and manage strategic Groups & MICE accounts, including corporate meeting planners, incentive houses, destination management companies, event agencies, associations, entertainment clients, luxury travel partners, and specialist intermediaries.
- Achieve or exceed Groups & MICE revenue targets through proactive business development, disciplined account management, pipeline monitoring, lead qualification, and the conversion of opportunities into profitable business.
- Collaborate closely with hotel Sales, Catering, and Events teams on pricing, availability, proposals, and client engagement to deliver a seamless sales process and maximise conversion.
- Plan and execute sales activities including client meetings, roadshows, industry events, trade shows, familiarisation trips, site inspections, sales missions, and other business development initiatives to enhance brand awareness and generate new opportunities.
- Represent The Peninsula Hotels at key industry events and partner forums, building relationships and ensuring effective follow-up on qualified opportunities.
- Provide market intelligence and insights on customer demand, industry trends, booking patterns, planner requirements, and competitive activity to inform commercial strategy and business decisions.
- Maintain accurate account, pipeline, and activity records, and prepare regular sales reports, production updates, performance analyses, and business reviews as required.
- Partner with Head Office and hotel teams to ensure consistent brand messaging, compelling sales materials, and a seamless luxury client experience from initial enquiry through post-event follow-up.
General Requirements
- University degree or higher in relevant field.
- Strong luxury hotel sales expertise with proven knowledge of Groups and MICE, including group rooms, catering, events, incentive travel, trade shows, account management, pipeline management and contract conversion.
- Previous experience of 10 years or more in luxury hotel sales, preferably with regional or global responsibility and a strong track record in Groups and MICE business development from the North American market.
- Ability to communicate confidently with senior clients, hotel leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Commercially driven, proactive, and highly organised, with strong business acumen and a results-focused approach.
- Strong relationship builder, persuasive communicator, and skilled negotiator, with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Collaborative, service-minded, and culturally aware.
- Fluency in English.
