Our team: The English Language Learning Content Development team creates high-quality learning experiences for teachers and learners across print, digital, and hybrid formats. The team partners closely with Design, Media, Product, Platforms, and other stakeholders to deliver content that is pedagogically strong, commercially relevant, and aligned with Pearson standards.
About the Role:
We are looking for an Advanced Specialist, Content Developer to join our English Language Learning team. In this role, you will lead the development and delivery of high-quality English language learning products, ensuring alignment with customer needs, portfolio priorities, pedagogical standards, timelines, budget, and business objectives. This role is ideal for someone with proven experience in ELL/ELT pedagogy and editorial processes, project ownership, and the ability to manage stakeholders, vendors, and multiple content components across the full development lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
Lead content development across assigned print and digital materials, ensuring strong pedagogical, content and learning experience standards.
Own content development delivery, proactively identifying and resolving content, quality, dependency and delivery challenges, seeking guidance from line managers when additional support is needed.
Work closely with Project Managers, providing realistic development lead times, dependencies and risks, and adapting development approaches when needed.
Work effectively with authors and external suppliers, providing clear direction and feedback to ensure content meets agreed requirements and quality standards.
Use AI-enabled and agentic workflows effectively, continuously looking for opportunities to improve the quality, speed and scalability of content development.
Collaborate across functions and with external partners to solve problems, remove barriers and enable successful delivery.
Experience and expertise
Strong experience in English Language Learning content development across print and digital products, with sound knowledge of ELL pedagogy and learning experience.
Ability to take ownership of development work, make sound decisions and solve content, quality and delivery challenges, escalating or seeking guidance when appropriate.
Strong understanding of content development workflows, including estimating lead times, identifying dependencies and risks, and contributing practical solutions.
Experience working with Project Managers, authors, suppliers and multidisciplinary teams in an international environment.
Good understanding and practical use of AI in content development, with the ability to adapt as technologies, processes and ways of working evolve.
Strong collaboration, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and take accountability for assigned work.
