From the employer
Construction Account Manager at Handoff
We're hiring a Construction Account Manager to get our enterprise customers successfully using Handoff. In this role you'll lead implementation for building material suppliers, dealers, and construction companies — configuring their accounts, training their teams, supporting their rollout, and translating their feedback into improvements our engineers and researchers can act on.
This role is ideal for someone who has real construction estimating experience and knows how the work actually gets built — and who can take that credibility into a room of estimators, purchasing staff, or operations leads and help them get more out of our technology. If you've spent time in the field or at a supplier desk and you're ready to bring that expertise into a fast-moving AI company, this is the role for you.
What you'll do
- Serve as the primary point of contact for estimating, purchasing, and construction staff at our enterprise accounts
- Build and own the implementation plan per account, with 30/60/90 milestones the customer has agreed to
- Configure and maintain customer accounts: cost data, product preferences, catalogs, estimate formats, and presets — validated against real estimates
- Train customer users and build the training materials that scale that process
- Own first-line support: answer customer questions same day and escalate bugs with reproducible steps and customer impact
- Translate customer requirements and feedback into structured, prioritized specs for our forward-deployed engineers, researchers, and product team
- Review customer usage weekly per account and work adoption blockers with the team
- Prepare and run customer check-ins and business reviews
- Build the repeatable playbook: onboarding checklist, configuration standards, support process
About you
- You've personally done takeoffs from drawings and built estimates and material lists — residential or commercial. This is a requirement, and we'll verify it in the take-home.
- You have end-to-end knowledge of the construction process, including field and installation work. You know what a quantity means on site, can catch a missing scope, and can explain it in a customer's language.
- You've trained people, supported accounts, or managed customer relationships. You're comfortable in front of a room of estimators, purchasing staff, or sales reps.
- You're a clear writer who gets the details right. You can turn a customer conversation into a precise requirement or a reproducible bug report someone else can act on.
- You use AI tools every day and can teach them to someone who doesn't.
- Bonus: experience with takeoff software (PlanSwift, Bluebeam, OST), estimating or construction management platforms (Buildertrend, JobTread, Procore), software implementation or onboarding, procurement/purchasing at a material supplier, or working alongside product or engineering teams.
