Ready to take your composites expertise closer to the customer?
We're looking for someone who understands advanced composite materials and wants to play a bigger role in how those materials are applied, qualified, and ultimately commercialized.
Our client, an established international manufacturer of prepregs, advanced composites, and high-performance engineered materials, is expanding its North American composites business and is seeking a Technical Sales & Applications Manager – Advanced Composites.
You don't necessarily need to come from a traditional sales career. You might currently be an Applications Engineer, Composite Engineer, Technical Service Engineer, Sales Engineer, Technical Account Manager, or Technical Sales professional working with carbon fiber, fiberglass, thermoset composites, prepregs, or related structural composite technologies.
What matters is that you understand the materials, can work credibly with customers and engineers, and are interested in taking greater ownership of customer applications and commercial opportunities.
You'll work with OEMs, composite fabricators, processors, and distributors to understand technical requirements, identify applications, support material evaluation and qualification, and develop opportunities into long-term commercial business.
The company's advanced-composites portfolio includes thermoset prepregs and UD prepregs utilizing carbon, glass, aramid, basalt, and other reinforcement systems, along with laminates, reinforced materials, composite components, and specialized engineered-material solutions.
What You'll Do
- Work directly with customers to understand material, processing, performance, and application requirements.
- Identify and develop new customer and application opportunities for prepreg and advanced composite materials across North America.
- Support material selection, sampling, testing, trials, qualification, specification, and commercialization.
- Build relationships with OEMs, composite fabricators, processors, distributors, engineers, and technical decision-makers.
- Translate customer challenges into technical and commercial opportunities in collaboration with engineering, product management, and manufacturing teams.
- Develop new accounts and contribute to a qualified pipeline of customer and application opportunities.
- Support technical presentations, quotations, proposals, pricing discussions, and commercial negotiations.
- Coordinate customer projects with colleagues across North America and Europe.
- Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows.
What You Bring
- Professional experience with advanced composites, prepregs, carbon fiber, fiberglass, thermoset materials, or closely related structural composite technologies.
- Practical understanding of composite materials and manufacturing processes such as layup, curing, molding, material testing, qualification, or composite fabrication.
- Experience working directly with customers, suppliers, OEMs, fabricators, or other external technical stakeholders.
- Ability to understand a customer's technical challenge and communicate effectively with both engineers and commercial decision-makers.
- Interest in developing applications, customers, and new business in addition to providing technical support.
- A proactive, self-directed working style and the ability to operate effectively within an international organization.
- Willingness to travel approximately 50–70% throughout North America.
Experience with thermoset prepreg materials, resin systems, UD or fabric-reinforced prepregs, CFRP/GFRP, or prepreg processing is particularly valuable. Candidates with strong adjacent composite-material experience and the technical foundation to learn the company's specific prepreg portfolio are also encouraged to apply.
Compensation & Benefits
- Target base salary: $110,000, commensurate with experience
- Performance-based variable compensation
