Role brief

Growth Roles summary, based on the employer's posting.

What you'll do

  • Run the full sales cycle for companies with twenty to two hundred fifty employees
  • Work named accounts through outbound outreach while quickly following up with inbound product trials
  • Win new customers, then increase seats, usage, workflows, and team adoption across accounts
  • Lead technically credible discovery and product demos without relying on a sales engineer
  • Help create SMB messaging, sequences, demos, objection responses, and competitive positioning

What you bring

  • Two to four years closing SaaS or AI sales, ideally in high-velocity or product-led motions
  • A demonstrated record of winning new logos and meeting quota with specific deal examples
  • Current hands-on use of AI agents, including a workflow you can demonstrate and explain
  • Enough technical fluency to demo independently, engage technical buyers, and relay findings to product and engineering

Who this fits

This role suits a hunter who also wants responsibility for expansion, usage reviews, and customer adoption. You should be comfortable creating pipeline, acting without a mature playbook, and working across individual contributors, managers, and executives. The position is hybrid in San Francisco or New York, with three office days each week, and reports to the Head of Scaled Revenue.

From the employer

About Genspark

Genspark is doing $250M ARR after a year, and we just closed $400M in new funding. Customers are coming faster than we can staff to meet them.

Why? Instead of building on one AI model, we plug into 70+ and let the system pick the right one for the job. Better answers on more kinds of work, no lock-in to any single lab, and the bill can land a lot lower than running everything through one frontier model. In a world where CFOs are now pushing on the ROI of AI spend, that last point matters a lot.

And Genspark is not just one product. It's seven:

  • Genspark is the AI workspace: research, docs, slides, design, code, all in one place.

  • GenMail takes over your inbox: drafts in your voice, briefs you every morning, gets you to zero faster.

  • GenTeam is where humans and AI agents work side by side on projects in slack like channels.

  • GenOffice is our open-source AI office suite: Docs, Sheets, Slides, and PDF on Mac and Windows, with the Super Agent built in.

  • Speakly replaces typing with voice, in any app, in 50+ languages.

  • SecondBrain gives the whole system memory across your email, meetings, files, and CRM.

  • Claw is the agent that actually goes and does the work, on your machine or in the cloud.

Each product is a reason to buy, and each one is an expansion path inside your customers.

To date, we have not had a Commercial sales team selling to companies under 2,500 employees. This segment is a blank sheet. No playbook and no "this is how we do it." That's your job. We're not looking for someone who wants to run a play. We want people who want to develop it.

About the role

As a founding SMB Account Executive at Genspark, you will own the full lifecycle for companies up to 250 employees: find them, win them, and grow them. This is a full-cycle, hunter-plus-farmer seat. You are responsible for landing brand-new logos and for expanding every account you sign, driving deeper adoption, higher consumption, and multi-team upsell across our product suite.

SMB at Genspark is a high-velocity motion. Buying committees are smaller, and value gets proven in days. If you like a lot of at-bats and fast feedback loops, this is the segment for you.

What you will do

  • Own the full sales cycle end to end. Prospect, qualify, demo, validate, POC, negotiate, close, and expand with companies from 20-250 employees.

  • Work a mixed pipeline. You will get a portfolio patch of named accounts, and inbound trial signups will flow to you from customers who have already gotten their hands on the product. Your job is to work both hard: outbound into the patch and fast follow-up on the trials.

  • Land new logos and then grow them. Every account you sign is yours to expand: more seats, more usage, more workflows, more teams.

  • Drive consumption. Genspark is a usage-forward product, so signature is not the finish line, it's the starting line. Get customers to real workflows and turn pilots into daily habits.

  • Run tight, technically credible discovery. You don't need to be an engineer, but you do need to understand how work gets done inside your customer's business and where an AI agent creates leverage.

  • Deliver compelling product demos on your own. You should be able to run one without a sales engineer in the room. The more technical you are, the better.

  • Multi-thread the deal across ops, IT, finance, and the executive sponsor. Even in SMB, you will not win on a single champion.

  • Help build the SMB playbook. Messaging, sequences, demo flows, objection handling, competitive positioning. Document what works so the next ten hires ramp faster because of you.

You may be a fit if

  • You have 2 to 4 years of closing experience in SaaS or an AI sales role, ideally with high-velocity or product-led motions.

  • You have a consistent track record of landing net-new logos and hitting quota. You can talk about specific deals, specific numbers, and specific things you did to win them.

  • You are running agents today. Not "I've tried ChatGPT." We want to see you demo the workflow you built, walk through how it changed the way you sell, prospect, research, or run your day, and speak to what the good and bad have been. If you can't, this probably isn't the seat for you.

  • You are a hunter. Building pipeline from scratch doesn't scare you, it's how you like to work. You are equally comfortable following up hard on a warm trial.

  • You are technically fluent enough to demo a product yourself, run discovery with a technical buyer, and translate what you learn back to product and engineering.

  • You have a bias for action and a high tolerance for ambiguity. Founding-team energy: you fix the thing that's broken instead of filing a ticket about it.

  • You are an excellent communicator, in writing and in the room, and you build trust quickly across ICs, managers, and executives.

This role may not be a fit if

  • You need a mature playbook, mature enablement, and a fully-baked ICP on day one.

  • You want to specialize in either new logos or expansion. Here you own both.

  • Consumption-based motion, usage reviews, and joint success planning feel like someone else's job.

  • You are not passionate about AI, or you are not willing to be a heavy Genspark user yourself.

What you get

  • A founding seat on the Commercial Sales team, with meaningful equity and the runway to grow with the function.

  • A category-defining product with real pull from the market.

  • Direct access to the Head of Scaled Revenue, product, and engineering. Short feedback loops, high leverage.

  • Competitive base, uncapped commission, accelerators, and standard benefits (health, dental, vision, 401(k), FTO).
