About the Role

As a Senior Sales Executive, you will be responsible for driving new business growth for FIS's Card Issuing and Payments Solutions portfolio across regional and community financial institutions. You will build pipeline from the ground up through proactive prospecting, strategic outreach, and industry networking, helping banks modernize, grow, and optimize their credit and debit card programs.

This is a true hunter role focused on acquiring net-new clients and expanding FIS's presence within the issuing and payments market. Success requires high outbound activity, strong discovery skills, and the ability to position credit and debit issuing, issuer processing, card management, fraud prevention, digital card capabilities, and payments solutions as strategic drivers of growth, customer engagement, and operational efficiency.

What You'll Do

  • Proactively generate new business through cold calling, outbound prospecting, referrals, and industry networking.
  • Build, manage, and continuously replenish a healthy pipeline with a focus on net-new regional and community bank clients.
  • Identify opportunities to help financial institutions optimize, modernize, and grow their credit and debit card portfolios.
  • Lead discovery conversations focused on portfolio growth, cardholder engagement, operational efficiency, fraud mitigation, payments innovation, and digital transformation.
  • Position FIS card issuing, issuer processing, and payments solutions as strategic enablers of revenue growth, customer retention, and competitive differentiation.
  • Own the full sales cycle from initial outreach through negotiation and contract execution.
  • Develop executive-level relationships with retail banking, payments, card services, consumer lending, and operations leaders.
  • Collaborate with solution consultants and product partners to design tailored credit and debit program strategies.
  • Deliver persuasive presentations and business cases to senior banking stakeholders.
  • Negotiate and close complex, consultative sales opportunities.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed activity, pipeline, and revenue targets.
  • Represent FIS at industry events, banking conferences, and payments forums.

What You Bring

  • Experience selling credit card issuing, debit card issuing, issuer processing, card services, payments, or banking technology solutions into regional and community banks.
  • Proven track record of self-sourcing opportunities and building pipeline through proactive prospecting.
  • Demonstrated success in new logo acquisition and consultative solution selling.
  • Strong understanding of credit and debit card ecosystems, issuer processing, payment networks, card program management, and banking operations.
  • Ability to engage executive and line-of-business stakeholders across retail banking, consumer lending, payments, card services, and operations.
  • Exceptional communication, discovery, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Added Bonus If You Have

  • Experience selling credit and debit processing, issuer processing, card management, fraud prevention, loyalty and rewards programs, instant issuance, digital cards, tokenization, or adjacent payments solutions.
  • Existing relationships with regional and community bank executives.
  • Familiarity with Visa, Mastercard, Discover, credit card issuing, debit networks, and broader card and payments ecosystems.
  • Experience selling within the financial technology or payments industry.
  • Strong understanding of the competitive landscape across card issuing, issuer processing, and payments providers.
  • High level of resilience, discipline, and motivation in a quota-driven environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
