Felsburg Holt & Ullevig (FHU) is a 200-person transportation engineering firm that helps create the transportation systems people rely on to live, work, and play in their communities and beyond.

Our Marketing & Communications Intern will be based in our Omaha office but will support people, projects, and stories across FHU. This part-time internship will begin in Fall 2026, with hours scheduled around classes and primarily during regular business hours.

You’ll work with FHU’s Marketing & Creative Communications team, gaining hands-on experience developing and managing content for social media, internal communications, and FHU’s website.

What You’ll Do

  • Create content for FHU’s external social media channels, including messaging, graphics, photography, and filming and editing videos.
  • Support internal communications through FHU’s SharePoint site, including weekly articles, a monthly newsletter, and other employee content.
  • Assist with updating and organizing information on FHU’s external website, with opportunities to support broader improvements to website structure and navigation.
  • Adapt stories about FHU’s people, projects, expertise, and culture for different audiences and channels.
  • Manage and coordinate communications, calendars, and workflows using Rella.
  • Track performance and use analytics to understand what resonates with different audiences and inform future content.
  • Explore ways AI and other emerging tools can support content development, improve workflows, and streamline communications processes.
  • Assist with other communications projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, public relations, digital media, journalism, or a related field; junior or senior standing preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creativity and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of how content, messaging, and format vary across social media, websites, and internal communications.
  • Experience in creating and editing video content for social media, such as Reels or similar short videos.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with or interest in WordPress or other website content management systems.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud programs, Canva, or similar design and video-editing tools.
  • Experience with SharePoint, Rella, or comparable tools for publishing, organizing, and managing content is a plus.
