From the employer

Marketing Project Manager

At ESS Companies (ESSC), we empower people to own their futures by redefining the employee and client experience. As a 100% employee-owned powerhouse of heavy civil construction companies — Emery Sapp & Sons, Achen-Gardner Construction, Rummel Construction, Monks Construction, ESCO Construction, Barrows Excavation, and Premier Testing Laboratories — we do it For The Workers. Our purpose drives our performance, and our performance builds strong communities.

ESSC is entering a new chapter. Backed by a strong executive team and a solid foundation, we've established a clear, recognizable identity in the market. Now we're scaling what we've built — driving greater alignment and impact across our companies, industries, and communities.

Our people build infrastructure that lasts for generations, and we bring that same care to our brand and marketing work. We're looking for an experienced Marketing Project Manager with the skills to do the job and the passion to do it right — a self-starter with a collaborative spirit, an action-oriented mindset, a passion for people-first, automation-backed process and organization, and a genuine belief in purpose-driven work.

What you'll be doing...

  • Own end-to-end project management for priority, big rock marketing initiatives, with an emphasis on digital platforms (e.g., websites, web platforms, landing pages, microsites, and related digital builds) from intake through launch.
  • Act as the primary liaison between marketing and technology/integration teams, detailing and syncing schedules, aligning priorities, keeping both sides informed of timelines and dependencies, and holding teams accountable for their role in a project.
  • Build and maintain project plans and timelines, tracking progress against milestones and proactively flagging risks, blockers, or scope changes.
  • Build a capacity manager and track team and resource allocation across active projects, ensuring workloads are balanced.
  • Collaborate with marketing leadership to ensure future work is appropriately accounted for and resourced based on predetermined launch dates.
  • Partner with marketing leadership to prioritize incoming requests and sequence work based on capacity, priority, urgency, and business impact.
  • Proactively evaluate tools, platforms, and processes for effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with marketing and technology team members to design and maintain a predictable, documented project process — including intake, scoping, approvals, and handoffs — and tailor it appropriately across different work types (e.g., website builds vs. campaigns vs. quick-turn requests).
  • Train and support team members on the process so there's shared understanding of how work moves through the pipeline and what's expected at each stage.
  • Facilitate status meetings, stand-ups, and stakeholder check-ins across marketing and technology teams.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement automation and AI tools to streamline project tracking, reporting, and other repetitive tasks — continuously looking for ways to speed up delivery and reduce manual work.
  • Maintain and automate project management platform, Monday.com, as the system of record for project information, timelines, reviews, status as well as team resourcing allocation.
  • Report on project status, team capacity, and process health to marketing leadership.

What you’ll bring

  • 6-8 years of experience in project management, digital project management, or marketing operations, ideally managing website, platform, or other digital/technical deliverables.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with both marketing and technology/development teams, and comfort translating between the two.
  • Skilled at reprioritizing work as business needs evolve, keeping marketing leadership informed of potential impacts to ongoing work.
  • Proven ability to manage resource planning and capacity tracking across a team handling multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong project management fundamentals — experience with Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or Waterfall methodologies and tools such as Monday.com, Asana, Jira, or Workfront.
  • Comfort designing and documenting repeatable processes and rolling them out to a team in a way that sticks.
  • Working knowledge of automation and AI tools, with an eagerness to learn and apply new tools to reduce manual or redundant work.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities at once.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable facilitating meetings and reporting status to leadership.
  • PMP, CAPM, or Scrum/Agile certification is a plus, not required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong sense of team collaboration, self-starter attitude, with an analytical mindset and sound judgment.
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude, and a sense of humor
