Summary
The Corporate Business Development & Marketing Senior Specialist, supports the business development and marketing efforts of the Corporate practice group, with a focus on Emerging Growth & Venture Capital (EGVC) initiatives working closely with Business Development & Marketing Managers, lawyers, and cross-functional colleagues to drive venture-focused initiatives that enhance client outreach, promote the group’s capabilities, and support day-to-day marketing activity. This individual is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow their career in a professional services environment. The Corporate Business Development & Marketing Senior Specialist plays an important role in supporting projects related to pitches and proposals, marketing collateral, CRM and pipeline tracking, directories and awards, and events. They gain broad exposure to key business development and marketing processes, while contributing to a team-oriented, client-focused culture.
Location
This position can sit in our Palo Alto, or San Francisco office and offers a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive support for client events, webinars, and sponsorships in the EGVC space and broader Corporate practice, including managing event deliverables (branding, sponsor benefits), coordinating logistics (venue, RSVPs, materials), and liaising with the firm’s Events team to ensure seamless execution and follow-up.
Assist in executing Corporate practice and EGVC-specific BD initiatives, such as preparing targeted venture capital market content (e.g., startup-focused newsletters or thought leadership pieces) and supporting lateral partner integration by ensuring immediate BD opportunities (client introductions, welcome communications) are carried out effectively.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including design, communications, and digital teams to ensure Corporate and EGVC deliverables are on-brand and delivered on time.
Collaborate with BD team members and lawyers to assist with pitches, proposals, credential submissions and other client-facing materials and marketing collateral.
Update and maintain CRM records, track business development activity, and help pull reports or dashboards as needed.
Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and client developments to support strategy development and benchmark progress.
Supports and advises on EGVC and other Corporate practice group-related directory and league table submissions and industry awards.
Maintain experience and matter tracking tools and assist with updates as needed.
Help support onboarding activities for new lawyers from a BD and marketing perspective.
Assist with budget tracking and administrative coordination for marketing expenses.

The ideal candidate has previous experience in a marketing or business development role within a professional services or law firm setting supporting emerging growth & venture capital (or related transactional practice areas). They have proven ability to manage multiple projects independently and partner confidently with senior stakeholders. They are highly organized, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as is the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and attorneys. Candidates should have working proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and comfort using AI, digital tools and CRM systems. A positive, team-oriented attitude, professional demeanor, and eagerness to learn are critical to success in this role.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field.
Minimum Years of Experience
5 years’ experience in marketing and/or business development in a professional services environment.

The firm’s expected hiring range for this position is $96,418 - $127,757 per year depending on the candidate’s geographic market location.
The compensation offered for employment will also be dependent on other factors including the candidate’s experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
