Job Description

<br>

CoStar Group (NASDAQ: CSGP) is a leading global provider of commercial and residential real estate information, analytics, and online marketplaces, and 3D digital twin technology. Included in the S&P 500 Index, CoStar Group is on a mission to digitize the world’s real estate, empowering all people to discover properties, insights and connections that improve their businesses and lives.

We have been living and breathing the world of real estate information and online marketplaces for over 35 years, giving us the perspective to create truly unique and valuable offerings to our customers. We’ve continually refined, transformed, and perfected our approach to our business, creating a language that has become standard in our industry, for our customers, and even our competitors. We continue that effort today and are always working to improve and drive innovation. This is how we deliver for our customers, our employees, and investors. By equipping the brightest minds with the best resources available, we provide an invaluable edge in real estate.

About Matterport

Matterport, a CoStar Group brand, is transforming the built world through its pioneering 3D digital twin and AI-driven spatial data platform. By combining immersive technology, precision data, and advanced visualization capabilities, Matterport empowers professionals across industries, including commercial real estate, hospitality, architecture, engineering, construction, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, and residential, to market, manage, and analyze properties in entirely new ways.

About the Role

Matterport is hiring a Director of Product Marketing to lead the function. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, you will own how we position the platform to the industries we sell into, how the team turns audience insight into work that Sales and Demand Generation can actually use, and how that work shows up in the funnel.

Product marketing sits upstream of most of our go-to-market. Industry narratives, sales tools, campaign messaging, and lifecycle content all start here. We want a leader who runs the function as a growth lever rather than a content service desk, and who can show the line between what the team ships and what the pipeline does.

This is not a role that only manages people. You will carry residential real estate and multi-family yourself. Both connect directly to CoStar Group's marketplaces, Homes.com and Apartments.com, and both need a senior owner who can hold a strategy conversation with those brands rather than route requests to them. You will also own the marketing motion running through LoopNet on the commercial side, where vertical execution sits with a product marketer on your team. Joint positioning, portfolio alignment, and go-to-market sequencing across all three marketplaces are yours. You will lead that day to day with executive sponsorship from the VP of Marketing and direct access to counterparts across the CoStar brands.

This is a builder's role, and a hands-on one. You have led product marketing before in enterprise B2B technology. You have moved a team from product-led messaging to audience-led messaging and you know how hard that transition is. You know what good looks like because you have shipped it yourself, and you can set that bar for other people.

The team's wider portfolio spans commercial real estate, new home construction, retail and restaurants, travel and hospitality, government and public sector, AEC, insurance and restoration, manufacturing, and energy. Some themes cut across the portfolio rather than sitting inside one industry, facilities management among them, and shaping how the team covers those is part of the role. So is deciding where the team goes deep and where we consolidate.

This position is located in Arlington, Virginia and is in office Monday through Friday.

What You Will Do

Lead the Function

  • Own the product marketing charter: what the function is for, how it operates, and how its output connects to revenue.

  • Set the standard for quality and pace. Define what finished work looks like, then hold the team to it.

  • Lead, coach, and develop the product marketing team, and partner with the VP of Marketing on structure, scope, and capability gaps.

  • Recruit into open roles and raise the bar with every hire.

  • Decide how cross-cutting themes such as facilities management are covered across the portfolio rather than rebuilt inside every vertical.

Carry Residential Real Estate and Multi-Family

  • Own positioning, narrative, and go-to-market for residential real estate and multi-family as your own portfolio.

  • Own the joint marketing strategy with Homes.com and Apartments.com, including how our offer shows up to their audiences and theirs to ours.

  • Own the multi-family go-to-market plan end to end: audience definition, positioning, and the path from interest to qualified pipeline.

  • Own the residential growth plan, carrying accountability for audience quality and deal value alongside volume.

Own the CoStar Group Marketplace Motion

  • Partner on the marketing motion across three CoStar marketplaces: Homes.com, Apartments.com, and LoopNet.

  • Set the commercial real estate marketplace strategy that the CRE product marketer on your team executes against, and keep the boundary between strategy and execution clear.

  • Align the portfolio so residential, multi-family, and commercial work reinforce each other rather than run in parallel.

  • Keep go-to-market sequencing coordinated across the three brands so the marketplace partnerships reinforce one plan.

Own Vertical Positioning Across the Portfolio

  • Define Matterport's positioning for each priority industry and buyer audience, replacing generic product messaging with a differentiated point of view.

  • Make first-hand buyer research a standing discipline, so every industry narrative starts from a customer problem rather than a feature list.

  • Lead go-to-market planning and execution for product launches, industry plays, and regional campaigns.

  • Build the sales-facing toolkit: industry narratives, competitive positioning, customer proof, and field-ready materials, developed with Sales leadership rather than handed to them.

Drive Growth and Funnel Performance

  • Carry accountability for the conversion stages product marketing influences most, particularly turning engaged buyers into qualified demand.

  • Partner with Demand Generation on structured testing of messaging, offers, and audience targeting, with results measured and acted on.

  • Grow the targetable market by identifying and qualifying industries and segments we currently under-serve.

  • Build funnel fluency across the team, so every product marketer can explain how their work moves pipeline.

  • Own competitive intelligence across the portfolio and turn what you learn into positioning and product feedback.

Partner Across the Business

  • Operate as a peer to Demand Generation, Lifecycle Marketing, Creative, and International Marketing on shared funnel goals and reusable content.

  • Serve as marketing's primary interface to Sales leadership on industry strategy, deal-cycle messaging, and enablement priorities.

  • Work with International Marketing on how positioning and content adapt by region.

Put AI to Work

  • Bring AI into the team's daily workflow where it earns a place: buyer research, competitive monitoring, pre-call briefing, and faster content production.

  • Draw on the AI work already underway across Matterport and CoStar Group instead of starting from scratch.

Represent Matterport

  • Speak for Matterport at industry events and conferences in the markets we serve.

  • Build relationships with trade associations and industry organizations that strengthen our standing in the category.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person university or college.

  • 10+ years of progressive B2B marketing experience, including at least five years leading product marketing teams.

  • Experience building or rebuilding a product marketing function in enterprise technology, SaaS, or proptech. This means the operating model, the standards, and the cadence, not only the output.

  • A track record marketing to vertical industries and to defined buyer audiences. Experience moving a team from horizontal, product-led messaging to audience-led messaging is strongly preferred.

  • Direct experience marketing to residential real estate, multi-family, or both. You will carry these verticals personally, not oversee them.

  • Growth marketing credibility. You have owned or shared accountability for funnel conversion metrics, run disciplined experiments, and reported the results to executives.

  • Experience building go-to-market through a partner, marketplace, or platform ecosystem, where the plan has to work for two sets of commercial goals at once.

  • Enterprise B2B experience with complex, multi-stakeholder buying cycles and a direct sales force.

  • Practical AI fluency. You use AI in your own work and have introduced it to a team, rather than following it from a distance.

  • Strong cross-functional leadership. Credible with Sales leaders and a genuine peer to other marketing leaders.

  • Comfort with data. You can read the numbers, find the story in them, and decide what to do next.

  • Clear, confident communication with executive audiences.

  • A track record of commitment to prior employers.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree.

  • Experience marketing alongside a real estate marketplace, portal, or listings platform.

  • Background in an adjacent sector: commercial real estate, AEC, construction technology, or proptech.

  • Real interest in AI, spatial data, and digital experience platforms.

  • Experience leading a team through an operating-model reset or a post-acquisition integration.
