From the employer
About the Role
This is the founding Head of Product Marketing role at a legal AI company, sitting within the go-to-market team and reporting directly to the Head of GTM with close collaboration with the CEO, Product, and Engineering. You will own how the company explains itself to the world, turning sophisticated AI and legal technology into language that people understand, trust, and remember.
What You'll Do
Develop positioning and messaging that translates complex technical capabilities into simple, differentiated customer value.
Own the editorial calendar, setting the agenda for what the company says and when, rather than servicing requests.
Build product launch narratives first, defining the problem, message, audience, proof, and story before producing collateral.
Write and edit across all company channels: website, product pages, emails, blogs, social, scripts, presentations, and sales materials.
Partner with executives to shape their thinking into compelling posts, videos, panels, and interviews.
Spend time with customers, Sales, and Success to understand buying motivations and bring that language into marketing.
Direct video and content strategy, deciding what to make, who delivers it, and what the hook is, including presenting on camera yourself.
Create sales enablement materials that explain key products at multiple depths: 30 seconds, five minutes, or a full enterprise conversation.
Track competitors and the broader AI market to continually sharpen positioning.
Partner with performance marketing, using what converts to refine the overall narrative.
What We're Looking For
7+ years of experience in product marketing, communications, or storytelling in AI, enterprise software, legal tech, or comparably complex product environments.
Demonstrated experience in law, legal tech, legal journalism, or marketing to legal audiences, with a clear understanding of how lawyers think, what they trust, and how they buy.
Exceptional writing and editorial judgment across formats: headlines, product narratives, emails, scripts, and web copy.
Experience owning product positioning and launching products end-to-end, from problem statement through narrative and proof points.
Experience directing video and content production and comfort presenting on camera as a voice of the company.
Experience developing sales enablement materials for complex products at varying levels of depth.
Experience conducting customer research and interviews to extract real buying language and motivations.
Proven ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, sales, and external agencies while maintaining strategic ownership.
Proficiency with modern AI tools to improve productivity and output quality.
Ability to move fluidly between strategy and hands-on execution in a founding leadership capacity.
A background as a former lawyer turned marketer, legal or business journalist, or performance marketing strategist is a strong plus.
