From the employer
About the Role
This is a hands-on Community Lead role reporting directly to the General Manager at an early-stage ambient AI startup. You will own the community end-to-end, building a real conversion funnel from everyday user to passionate evangelist, and closing the loop between community signal and product roadmap.
What You'll Do
Build and nurture an active community across Discord, X, Reddit, and other platforms where users naturally gather.
Design and test concrete mechanics that turn power users into advocates, including recognition systems, referral programs, and early access tiers.
Mobilize the community at high-impact moments such as product launches and user research initiatives.
Gather rich feedback from community conversations and translate it into actionable product signal for the team.
Coordinate in-person events and experiences that deepen community bonds.
Partner cross-functionally with Growth, Marketing, and Product teams to align community efforts with broader goals.
Work across time zones with R&D, hardware, and supply-chain teams to keep community insights flowing into the roadmap.
What We're Looking For
2+ years building and scaling an online community for a B2C or prosumer product into a measurable driver of engagement or retention.
Proven ability to design and test advocacy mechanics rather than relying on organic growth alone.
Hands-on experience managing community platforms including moderation, engagement strategy, and feedback collection.
Experience mobilizing communities around specific campaigns or moments and coordinating across Growth, Marketing, and Product teams.
Operationally sharp, comfortable making independent calls and resolving issues without pre-existing playbooks.
Track record converting user feedback into actionable product insights, with demonstrated impact on retention or engagement metrics.
Experience coordinating in-person events or activations.
Experience working across distributed or cross-timezone teams.
Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is a strong plus given the team's international roots.
