From the employer
ClassDojo's goal is to give every child on Earth an education they love.
We started by building a powerful network for communication. ClassDojo’s flagship app is the #1 communication app connecting K-12 teachers, children, and families globally. Teachers use it to share what’s happening throughout the day through photos, videos, and messages that make parents feel like they’re there. It’s actively used in over 95% of US schools, reaching over 45 million children in 180 countries, with a team of just around 200 people [1]. We are now beginning to use this network to give kids the best learning experiences in the world, far beyond those a standard school can provide.
We hire for talent density. Our team comprises the most talented, entrepreneurial, and innovative teammates from around the world, with experience in education and large scale consumer internet companies, including Instagram, Netflix, Dropbox, Stripe, Uber, Y Combinator, and more. We’re building a company where the most talented people want to work. We believe you’ll do the best work of your life here—and you’ll pioneer the future of education, too.
About ClassDojo & Dojo Islands
Monsterverse is our virtual world for kids. Dojo Islands is where they build, play, and connect with classmates and friends.
The limit on growth has flipped. Revenue isn't it anymore; the size of the Islands user base is. 10M+ kids receive class points each week, and most have never installed the app.
What you’ll do:
We're hiring a product leader for the Monsterverse to own kid growth — growing kid users of Dojo Islands. This means running the product team that owns top-of-funnel growth for Dojo Islands and driving the cross-company roadmap to grow Monthly Active Kids (our core company metric is Monthly Active Connected Families, where families are Parents and/or Kids). You'll work closely with our co-founders, leaders, and cross-functional teams to invent and test long-term ideas, at both a strategic and tactical level.
The kid growth funnel end-to-end: awareness, install, activation, and early retention for Dojo Islands
The cross-company roadmap for Monthly Active Kids, coordinating across the flagship app, school network, and Islands
A small, high-leverage product team — setting direction, shipping fast, and learning faster
A direct working relationship with co-founders on long-term growth strategy
You will be a match if:
You've owned a top-line growth metric end-to-end. You've led initiatives that measurably moved DAU/WAU, install conversion, or retention on a consumer product. You can clearly articulate before → after.
You have gaming and/or kid-product experience — or a close equivalent. You've shipped at scale in games, social, or gamified products. You've lived in the activation and retention trenches and know how to find the fun.
You operate at both the strategic and the detail level. You drive a cross-org roadmap and write your own SQL. You set direction, then go get into the details.
You're self-sufficient with data. You can write queries, build dashboards, and analyze funnels without dedicated support.
You're a structured problem-solver in ambiguity. You break complex problems down, synthesize quant and qual, and produce simple, actionable plans.
AI is core to how you work, not a side tool. You've built it into your product process and your own workflow. We'll probe on this — it's important to us.
You might be a good fit if:
Founder or early-stage startup experience (pre-Series B). Operating in the $1M–$10M revenue phase builds the right reflexes.
Experience with kids' products, consumer social, or platforms with T&S / trust and safety considerations.
Experience with cross-functional growth loops — viral mechanics, referral systems, or in-product distribution.
